He yelped and stood on his hind legs with his head in the air. Quorra felt frightened and uncertain of what the creature was and what it was doing. He then placed his little front paws against her leg and sniffed the scent from her palm.
"Marv, down boy!", Sam demanded in a calm tone.
Quorra looked at Sam curiously. "So, this is a Marv?"
Sam opened the fridge then chuckled as he picked out two cans of soda and a piece of steak.
"That's my dog.", he corrected and threw the steak near Marv's cushion. "He's like a pet, but more of a friend like you and me."
Sam tossed a can of soda towards Quorra. She caught it and stared at the can, trying to figure out where to drink it from.
"Drink up!", said he as he curled his finger and lifted the ring to open the can.
The can hissed then popped open and tiny bubbles fizzed. Sam pressed his mouth against the tilted can, he could feel the fizz tickle his tongue. Quorra was amazed at how Sam could open the soda can, so she wanted to give it a try. She curled her finger on top of the can like Sam did. Nothing happened. She then shook the can to see if there was something hiding inside. Still nothing.
"Ahhh….", Sam pulled the can away and wiped the excess soda off his upper lip.
He watched as Quorra continued to stare at the soda can and smiled.
"Here, let me help you", he insisted.
Holding her can and curling his finger and lifted the ring to open the can once more. The can hissed then popped but instead of tiny bubbles fizzing, soda spewed all over his face.
Quorra's eyes widened in surprise then she smirked, cupping her hands over her mouth to hide.
"You had to shake the can!", he grumbled, then took a deep breath to calm down.
"Sorry Sam!", She apologised and gave him a look on her face that was so innocent, even Marv couldn't pull it off. "I thought there was something inside…"
Sam slid out from his shirt and wiped the soda off his face with it. He then threw his shirt into a dirt pile of clothes and picked out a freshly cleaned shirt nearby.
He giggled a little to lighten his mood and replied, "Don't worry about it! Just don't shake the can next time! Here, take this…"
He reached out his full soda can and handed it over. Quorra grasped onto the can with her two hands and tilted the drink against her lips. She could taste the fizz tickling her tongue down to her throat and the combination between the tang of lemonade and sweetness of sugar. She felt this buzzing sensation overflowing through her body.
Sam watched Quorra taking a sip from her drink and asked, "So… what do you think?".
She smiled and laughed uncontrollably, Sam had a feeling it was a bad idea to give her such caffeinated beverage.
"Why'd I do that Marv?", he asked.
Marv barked in reply as Sam patted his furry little head and chuckled.
