Night was suppose to be a peaceful time, a time when people could rest and forget all the worries and burdens that life had piled on top of them. However for a certain pink haired lieutenant this was not the case, inside the Squad Eleven barracks Yachriu sat, staring at a certain eye-patch that rested on a pillow. She knew no matter how hard she tried she would never fall asleep, for years she had spent her nights curled up next to Ken-chan. without him there sleep just wouldn't come.
Ever since Ken-chan had left she'd done almost nothing but sit in the same spot and stare at the eye-patch, for the first time in her life she felt no desire to play, to eat candy, or to do anything at all. She knew the rest of the squad was worried about her even though they tried not to show it, but she just couldn't bring herself to care. Right now all she wanted was to see Ken-chan again.
Would she ever see him again? In her heart she wanted to believe that she would, but her mind told her that she might not. For all she knew he could be lying on the ground dying right now, or maybe he was already dead. Even if he did come back alive and well, would he still be the Ken-chan she had known or would he have changed? Would he still be her friend, her partner, her father? She just didn't know.
These thoughts continued to plague her as she sat there and she knew there was nothing she could do to stop them. The only thing that could do that was Ken-chan coming back, and who knew when or if that would happen. Feeling tears beginning to leak from her eyes, she moved her hand planning to wipe them away but stopped before she did. In the past she'd never allowed herself to cry, but maybe, just this once, it would be okay.
Sitting there in the dark with tears pouring down her face, Yachiru stared at the eye-patch, "Please Ken-chan" She whispered, "Come back safely, don't leave me here alone."
