It was a wonder, a marvel, a miracle, one that only happened once a year. From the sky fell frozen crystals like a million little white shuriken descending to earth. All in Konoha found moment for pause at this rather romantic mark of the season.
At the Yamanaka flower shop, Ino and Sakura were discussing something or other when one of the customers let out an "oh my" which brought the attention of all in the shop to the fluffy white precipitation coming down outside.
Tsunade had decided to take the afternoon off from the evil paperwork and was enjoying the relaxing warmth of the hot spring when something dripped onto her head. Looking up she discovered, to her surprise, it was snowing, and that the drip had been a snowflake that had been melted by the heat rising from the water.
At the training ground frequented by team Gai, Lee was absolutely ecstatic.
"YOSH!! If I cannot catch every flake in the training circle before they touch the ground I will…"
"Kiss TenTen 100 times" someone finished for him.
"Kiss TenTen 100 times" he declared, not actually realizing what he had just said.
Rushing to the first flake he saw he found his feet unable to move and came crashing to the ground. He opened his eyes just in time to see the flake he had been after hit the ground.
"Oh well" said TenTen.
Lee looked over his shoulder at his feet to see the chain that was wrapped around them, then followed the length of the chain to the nimble, delicate hand that held it.
"Well, better get up Lee, you have a TenTen to Kiss 100 times" she grinned mischievously, "now what will you have to do if you can't?" her grin widening the redder his face got.
At the Hyuuga Compound, two flying fist stopped midswing as a little white star fell between them in rout to the ground. Neji and Kiba both looked up to the sky as Hinata and Akamaru came out from under the eaves to join them.
"Ruff" declared Akamaru wagging his tail excitedly.
"You said it boy," replied Kiba.
Hinata giggled sweetly at them.
At Ichiruka's (guess who we find there) all had stopped what they were doing to stare out at the whitening world. The crystalline blue eyes of one Uzumaki Naruto twinkled with a childlike glee. Temari, who was there with Shikamaru (not on a date though of course) had a similar look on her face, a look that spoke of nothing less than pure awe and wonder. After all, how often does it snow in the desert?
And so, a white blanked descended, piece by piece, to cover the village hidden in the leaves. And all across Konoha, paths were being left in the new fallen snow. Some were passed by one another, some crossed, some merged together and some separated into new ones. The only question is, who's paths were doing what.
