That's what she thought after she got to know him.
It's one of those typical love stories between the girl and the guy.
They both secretly loved eachother, keeping their feelings to themselves.
It started in their childhood.
Rikku was the little child of Cid, who worked with Gippal's father.
They often met when their fathers took their kids to work with them.
Rikku and Gippal would often go out into the desert looking for little treasures to take back home with them.
And they continued to attend school together.
They attended the school known as: Ymm knyta Clruum uv Home (All Grade School of Home)
Home was the place where the Al Bhed built after the great Machina War. That's where the Al Bhed live even up to this day.
As for the school, it was fairly large and admitted all ages.
"Rikku, wait up!" Gippal was chasing after Rikku on their way to school.
It was like that every morning. Rikku would run out of her house and meet up with Gippal.
"Only if you can catch me first!" she stuck her tongue out and kept running.
"Ooh .. that girl." He said as he began to run after her again.
"Duu cmuf! Duu cmuf! (too slow)" she yelled from a distance.
It didn't matter who caught up with whom; they would always stop for eachother outside the school.
"Ready for another day of being bored?" Gippal asked her.
"Of course. When aren't I prepared?" She put on a cute little smile and giggled.
They walked together into the school and made their way to their class.
Rikku and Gippal had always shared the same classes and they still did.
They always enjoyed entertaining eachother during a boring lesson, and of course they got caught.
But they always had fun together even if it meant cleaning up the room after class or beating the chalk erasers together.
They always did stuff together. Things like assembling Machina and hunting fiends in the desert.
"Man this thing sure is difficult to put together!" Rikku exclaimed.
"Sure is. Why did we have to go over the top and build such a huge one?"
"Cuz the bigger the better, right? Besides, what do you expect from Cid's girl?"
"Heh, that's true. The master's daughter aught to live up to the family name, I guess."
"Hehe I suppose. Hey you got a sphere I can stick in this slot?"
"yeah just a sec."
So Rikku waited.
"Hey, Rikku, can I ask you something?" Gippal asked as he searched.
"What is it?"
"Do you.. like someone?"
"W-What makes you ask that? No of course not.."
"Oh okay.. oh uh here's the sphere" He handed it to her.
They continued to work silently on the machina for the rest of the day after that conversation.
The next day wasn't as bad.
But instead of Gippal finding Rikku running past his house; he saw her walking.
"hey." he said
"Hiya."
"No race today?"
"Nah I don't really feel like it. Besides it's kinda hot."
Gippal pasued. "It's always hot. We're in the desert.."
"Oh well I knew that. I'm no dummy!" she smaked him upside the head, then she smiled.
"You're so stange"
"Well I am Cid's girl."
She winked and began to run.
"Caa oui eh lmycc! (See you in class)" she yelled as she ran.
"H-hey!" Gippal yelled. "Man, she's so unpredictable."
