Through Sickness and Health
I sat on a cliff overlooking the rocky shore. I'd had to get away, even if I could only go so far and the bloodsucker could read my mind.
Bella was bad. I knew that everyone else thought that, but no one said anything. Someone should say something to her. I know she wants the thing inside her to stay alive; she shouldn't do this to herself. Couldn't the bloodsucker doctor do something?
And why did the blonde bloodsucker have to be so protective? I can't have a moment alone with Bella without that stupid bloodsucker being there, listening to every word.
I sighed and stood. I stretched my front legs and then my back before heading back to the bloodsuckers house.
Edward was standing outside, waiting. I paused a short ways away from him.
Can you talk to her? he asked. I narrowed my eyes.
Why? I thought that since you're her lover boy that you'd be able to convince her to jump off the Eiffel tower or do anything she would have never dreamed about doing.
Look, she won't listen to any of us-Which might be a hint.
She won't listen to any of us so I thought she might listen to you.
And why would she listen to me?
Because she just would. Look, Jacob, I'm asking you this nicely.
Get the blonde bloodsucker out and I might.
Deal. I watched as he went inside the house. Moments later, he reappeared, followed by the blonde bloodsucker. She gave me a dirty look. I waited for her to leave with him before changing back and to the house.
Bella sat on the couch, staring blankly at the person on TV. I sat down gently beside her. She looked at me tiredly and smiled weakly.
"I was wondering when you'd be back, Jake. I missed you," she said hoarsely.
"Your bloodsucker wants me to convince you not to have that…that thing," I said. She needed to know the truth. She sighed.
"Edward is worried about me while I'm worried about my child. You understand, right, Jacob?" she asked. I found it hard not to melt under her gaze. I shook my head.
"No, I don't, Bella. Why do you want to do this to yourself? This thing won't be normal. I'm not sure what the thing will be. An it, maybe," I said, pacing.
"Stop fretting and sit, Jacob," she said. I gave her a look.
"I won't stop fretting until I know you're safe, Bella," I said. She sighed.
"Look, I can't let them take it from me. If they take it, then they'd be taking a part of me. Please, Jacob, understand what I'm trying to do!" she begged. I sat down to stop her worry.
"I know, I know, Bells, but I just want you to be safe," I said. She smiled reassuringly at me, or tried.
"I'll be fine. Edward and Carlisle will take good care of me," she said, patting my leg like my grandmother used to do. "Really, I'll be fine." And with that, we turned our attention to the TV, although I was still worried about her.
