Not for Anything

Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor who or any of the characters.

Ten years marked today, that he was no longer by her side. Ten years, she had been forced from his side, where he left her no choice but to stay in the parallel world with John.

That day, Rose Tyler had stared at where the TARDIS had been, hoping, praying that he'd return for her. When 10.5 had held her hand, he merely remained silent, understanding; she had lost the love of her life; for good this time around. When the Doctor didn't return, the Blond companion's body began to shake, and a sob ripped itself out of her mouth. Crumbling, Rose Tyler fell to the sand, crying, begging for him to return, and in return, John Smith, as he became known as, fell with her, holding her, stroking her hair. That day, Rose Tyler had lost the ability to smile.

As time passed, she began to smile again. Bit by bit, John gave the gift of happiness back to the Companion who had lost everything. Three years after the 10th Doctor's disappearance, John and Rose discovered they were expecting a child. A sun-warming, bright and full happiness smile lit up Rose's face and her heart thawed again.

Now, seven years later, Rose Tyler starred up at the sky, reminiscing of days long since passed. "Hey mummy," a little girl called, running to her side. "Is this where the Princess lost her Prince?"

Smiling down at the small dirty blond, chocolate brown eyed girl, Rose gave a nod before she looked over her shoulder at her husband. "That's right. But it was also here that she gained a new Prince, one who would stay with her always."

"Do you think she still thinks about her real Prince," asked the Seven year old, ever the curious small one.

Rose remained silent for a moment, contemplating it. "There doesn't go a day where the Princess doesn't think about the Doctor. However, she is very, very happy with the life she has now and she wouldn't give up her current life for anything in the whole universe."

Squealing in delight, the little girl ran after her younger brother, who had all of his father's looks. "Do you miss him," asked John, linking his fingers together with hers.

"You know I do," Rose answered, turning towards the Clone. "But like I told Samantha, I wouldn't change how my life is now for anything."

Giving a relieved smile, John bent down and kissed his wife.

Shutting down the projection, the Doctor stared, a sad expression on his face. She had grown so much since he had last seen her. His love had two children… she was a mum… How odd. Why couldn't those children be his own? Because he had been too scared to tell her how he felt all those years ago. At least she was happy. Closing his eyes, the Doctor took a deep breath and let it out. Opening his eyes, he set the coordinates for the Ponds.

I saw a lot of fanfics giving their own take on how it ended between Rose and the Doctor, but most of the point of views were in the Doctor's eyes. So I wanted to give it a shot at being in Rose's eyes. I hope you enjoyed what you read ^_^
