Can't Complain
I made her smile I made her cry
I cleared her
head and made her wonder why
I helped her live and made her want
to die
But she can't complain, she can't complain
They had a tumultuous relationship. One day they hardly knew each other, one day they were just friends, one day they were moving in together, one day they were broken up, one day they were falling into each others arms all over again.
She
tried to date a friend of mine
I was at his house when she came to
say goodbye
He stood her up but she took it as a sign
And I
can't complain, I can't complain
Cameron loved House – or at least she thought she did. But all three of them knew it wouldn't last. Yet she stuck it out. She stuck it out until she couldn't stand it anymore. She walked in in the middle of the lacrosse game that had Wilson practically asleep when she came to say goodbye.
We
took off for the weekend, had quite a time
Shared everything we'd
ever tried
I told her I could love her I told her I could lie
So
she can't complain, she can't complain
House didn't seem to care that she was leaving him. He shrugged it off, more interested in the television than the slightly distraught woman at his door. Wilson had always had a soft spot for hurting women and the next thing he knew, she was tucked in shotgun and they were heading off for the beach. They spent two days in the sand and the sun, sharing secrets and making love. He told her up front he had loved and lied before. But then, she already knew all that.
She
didn't care She saw me in her life
I left it up for her to
decide
She couldn't see the end but neither could I
So I can't
complain, I guess I can't complain
She already knew all that but she wanted to try anyway. He stepped back, to let her decide, but she had already made up her mind. She had seen the end with Greg; she couldn't see it with him. He hadn't seen the end with his wives; he ignored that he couldn't see it with her either.
She
moved here and bought the first house she could find
I moved in
and we locked ourselves inside
I guess we just kidnapped each
others minds
So we can't complain, we can't complain
The first few months they couldn't get enough. Every night they made love by the fire; sat and talked by the flames. Too bad they got to the embers so fast – the heat just died away. Just because they couldn't see the end didn't mean it wasn't rushing towards them like a fast-moving train.
I
cheated on her with a friend of mine
There are no days when we
don't fight
But remember I warned her and I'm a guy
So she
can't complain, no she can't complain
He told her up front. He told her he'd lie. He told her he'd cheat. He told her these things all very long ago. She knew going in, she knew when he came home so late. She didn't know who she was – this girl he held so tight. But she knew she couldn't complain – he told her from the start.
