Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars in any way, shape or form, and just like anyone else on here I write fluff like this because it makes me smile and because I can. I do not get money for this... so don't bug me about copy writing stuff... thank you.
Authors Note: This is a story I wrote for my creative writing class a couple of days ago. The quote is provided simply because my teacher inspires us to write something by giving us a quote to think about, I figured it would be interesting if I included what gave me the inspiration to write this story. The only thing that was edited was the spelling, punctuation and sentence fluency. Please read and review! Thank you!
"If you don't want anyone to know, don't do it." – Chinese Proverb
"Come on! It's not like anyone is going to know," a youngling protested as her friend gave her a look of nervousness.
"But the masters always know! It's as if they watch us all the time," her friend countered.
More than once had he been caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar.
"There are too many of us to watch over all the time Qui! Come on, don't you want to do something fun for once?"
On Coruscant, the weather was basically unchanging. It rarely rained, and hardly ever snowed. It was late at night when the two younglings had seen white flakes of powdery substance falling from the sky. They had never seen anything like it before, and were more than innocently curious to see what it was.
The small flakes glistened and collected on the windowsill outside, and most of the younglings were disappointed to find out; that was as close as they would ever get for a while. All of the younglings go out of bed to stare out the windows until the night shift guard raised from his post to escort the younglings back into their bed.
"Come on young ones, its late and you all need to…" the guard was cut off by the high pitched scream of a youngling. He ran over to her bed as the young girl cried hysterically. Much to his chagrin, the girl was impossible to understand through her inconsolable tears.
"It… eated… large… hurt…" her words barely came out as the guard tried to calm her down before she cried out, "The spidy eated my arm!"
The guard looked to the girls arm to see a small spider bite and sighed as he tried to convince her that she wasn't going to die.
Quietly, Qui-Gon and his friend Tahl snuck out of the room as Qui-Gon began to pout, "She didn't have to kill her. Jaina didn't mean to bite her, she was just scared." He hung his head with a sigh.
"Qui-Gon, it was just a spider," Tahl reassured, as they got closer to the back entrance of the temple.
"Jaina wasn't JUST a spider! Without her, we wouldn't have gotten this far without the guard noticing!"
"Okay, so it was a helpful spider, but Qui-Gon look! We are almost there!"
They both forgot the spider and rushed towards the door as a Jedi knight lingered in the shadows of the hallway. He watched as the two younglings enjoyed snow for the first time, balling the snow into their hands, throwing it at each other and getting snow all over them. Knowing that he should alert someone of the two runaways, he almost turned, but he couldn't help but smile as the two began to make a snow creature.
Dooku could have alerted the night guard, but chose to watch over the younglings instead.
