Just a sappy one-shot I thought up in the shower.
I don't own d.gray-man.

When Lavi had suggested Allen confess his love to Lenalee on Valentines Day, it had seemed like a good idea. That morning, it was snowing. Allen had asked Lavi to bring Lenalee into town around lunch, and then went into town, where he'd bought a bunch of red roses, and waited at a café. After a while, he thought he heard Lenalee and Lavi calling to him from across the road, so he'd jumped up, Roses in hand, and run across to meet them.
Through the snow, he hadn't seen a carriage coming. Before the driver saw him, it was too late to stop.
Lavi called out. Lenalee screamed. Allen lay on the ground, blood staining the white snow red.
'ALLEN!' Lenalee cried, running over to him. She turned him on his back and tried to shake him awake.
'SHIT!' the driver cried, getting out of his carriage and standing beside Lavi,'I'm sorry! He just came outta no-where! Man, how old is he?'
'Fifteen…'Lavi said through gritted teeth, slightly shaking as he held back tears. He felt like this was all his fault.
'Christ he's just a kid! I'll get a doctor!'
The man ran to get help. Allen groaned and opened his eyes.
'L-lenalee…'
'Allen! Don't move! Help is coming!'
Allen looked up at her pleading face. There were tears in her beautiful eyes. He knew he didn't have long.
'Le-lenalee, w-will you be my valentine?'
He shakily gripped what remained of the roses and held them up to her despite a massive pain in his arm. She looked surprised, then nodded sadly, taking the roses. Allen smiled and reached up to stroke her cheek.
'Then don't be sad…smile for me.'
She did. Allen let his eyes close.
'Thank you…'
His arm fell limp by his side. He could vaguely hear his friends crying and calling out to him, but the sounds faded away as he was enveloped in darkness. The one thing that did stay in his mind as he let death take him was Lenalee's smiling face.
