Portents of the Future? Kadan Hemmings

Disclaimer: Again I don't own any of the characters from Secret Window. If anybody own them it's either Stephen King or the actors who played them.
BTW, this fic should be read immediately after watching the movie in order for it to make sense.
Mort jerked awake at his desk, falling out of his desk chair onto the carpet of the study. He realized he had fallen asleep at the computer. Cursing silently, he stood up and observed what damage his slumber had done to his current story, "Secret Window". Once he had finished erasing the half million J's, he looked at the end. Suddenly he remembered the vivid dream he had just woken from. He dismissed it as too many weird food combinations and a stuffy office.

He clicked the close button on the word processor. A message box asking him if he wished to save before closing popped up. The cursor drifted toward 'Yes' but something stopped Mort in his tracks. He thought of an image from the dream. Amy terrified and bleeding and the aftermath there of. Then he watched six weeks of typing, writer's block, a cigarette smoke filled study and sleeping on the couch instead of in his own bed vanish before his eyes as he chose 'No'.

The door creaked slightly as he went into the bedroom, looking at the sleeping figure of his wife, Amy. He pulled the covers back, crawled in, and hugged as close to her as he could get without knocking her off the bed. She roused, seeming almost startled.
"Mort, what is it"
"What do you mean?" He said, knowing what she meant, they hadn't exactly been the quintessential couple since he'd been working on "Secret Window". He had been drinking a lot, they had been getting into fights more and more, but he just needed to be close to her, especially now after that nightmare.
"We're spooning. We haven't spooned in a year at least. What's wrong"
"I just love you so much." He kissed her gently, feeling the nightmare drift to the back of his mind where it could be forgotten. All their other problems could wait till the morning, but for now they would spoon and he would bury the memory of "Secret Window" forever. Or two years at least.
