Title: Finally

Author: WiccanPhyscoSlayer Category: Queer As Folk Pairing: Brian/Michael Summary: Brian FINALLY admits his feelings for Michael A/N: After Season 2. No Justin. No Ben.

The loud music of Babylon thrumming against his ears, Brian pushed his way through the crowd of dancing gay men. He was looking for someone. Not a trick. Someone who was the most important person in his life. Someone he would die for. Someone he was in love with.

That someone was Michael.

He had admitted it to himself a few weeks ago. He was in love with Michael. Always had been, always would be. He loved Michael's smile. He loved Michael's smell. He loved the way Michael would always put other people before him, even if that person were a complete ass to him (this person was usually Brian). He loved everything about Michael. He had admitted it to himself. Then to Lindsay. Then to Emmet and Ted. Then, fearing death, to Deb.

Now he had to admit it to Michael.

That would be hard. Brian had had walls up around himself for years. It would be hard to let someone in. Even Michael, who knew him so well. But he would do it. He knew he could.

Because he loved Michael.

So Brian pushed through the throng on the dance floor. He found Michael with Ted and Emmet at the bar, drinking a beer. He glanced at the latter two, and they made excuses and left, knowing what Brian was about to do. He walked over to Michael and said, "Hey Mikey, what's up?"

Michael shrugged. "Not much. You?"

Brian smiled. "Same-well, not exactly. I have something I need to tell you. I'm.I'm.I'm-" "What is it, Bri? What? You're getting a sex change and becoming a lesbian? You're becoming a priest? You're adopting a child from Somalia?"

"I'm in love with you."

Michael proceeded to drop his beer. The breaking glass got the attention of the men within five feet of them. Michael looked at Brian, stunned.

"You're WHAT?"

Brian moved closer. "I'm in love with you. I always have been. I've just been afraid to tell you. You see, I always thought that one day, when we were both old queens we would be together. But now I know I'm in love with you, and I don't want to wait. I want you now. I want you in my life, in my bed, in my home, in everything I am. I want to wake up and have you sleeping next to me. I want to go to sleep every night after making love to you. I love you."

Michael's face slowly turned from shock, to disbelief, to anger, to understanding, and finally to love. Tears welled up in his eyes as he moved until he was pressed up against Brian. No words were needed as they kissed each other, a kiss that signaled the start of something that would last forever.

Their friends in the room cried in happiness and hugged each other. The romantics in the room sighed happily. The rest of the people, who had watched the two friends for years, all had the same thought.

"Finally!"
