Alrighty, guys! I'm taking a break from Sonic today. So recently, I got obsessed with Wreck-It Ralph, so I'm doing my second short on this movie! Actually, the reason I went to see the film was because of the sonic cameo. I mean, come on! Most of the people who watched it probably did because they wanted to see their fav game characters!
Anyways, this fic contains a MAJOR SPOILER. I'm writing the last dramatic scene adaption. So yeah, please don't spoil it for yourself. I'm also practicing with dramatic writing. Also, am I really the only one who gets Zangief's quote?
ONTO THE STORY!
The Bad guy
"Ralph, you are a bad guy, but that does not mean you are a bad guy." – Zangief, Wreck-It Ralph.
There wasn't much for Ralph to think about as he broke out of Turbo's claws and plummeted down into the volcano below.
Oh, so that's how life flashes before your eyes.
Eyes, squeezed shut, and fist held downward for greater impact, the only thought Ralph had right now was keeping the girl safe. It was strange, really, the first time Ralph met her. Most of the game characters flinched and got out of the way quickly, as if they were scared of him. It took a while for Ralph to realize that they were scared of him. His size, strength, power terrified them. But the little girl wasn't terrified at all. In fact, she teased him. Saying that his hands were freakishly big, or that he had bad breath, didn't make him offended. On the opposite, the lighthearted jokes made him feel better, though Ralph wouldn't actually admit it. Vanellope accepted him for who he is, Ralph didn't have to prove anything to her. It was partly because she had a similar backstory, that she understood how it felt left out. There was nothing of either of them to do, except agree to who they were.
And Ralph was a wrecker. He was the bad guy, Cause that's what he was meant to be. Just then, Ralph remembered Zangief's strange little say, back before this whole thing started. Only now did the wrecker understand it. Yes, Ralph was a bad guy, but that didn't mean he was a bad guy.
Ralph built Vanellope's cart for her. He helped her prepare for the race. He truly wanted to protect her when he smashed that messy little cart. He cared for her. And now, he was sacrificing his life for her. That wasn't because he was good, or bad, or anything. It was just who he was.
As Ralph stared at the top of Cola Mountain that he was about to meet on full impact, Ralph finally remembered the little chant.
"I'm bad."
Ralph clutched the little medal Vanellope had made for him.
"And that's good."
He took a deep breath, accepting his final death.
"I'll never be good."
He's not getting any second chances, is he? This was his last chance to set things right.
"And that's not bad."
Ralph smiled, despite of his heart beating faster and faster in his giant chest. For a second, he thought he was going to choke on it.
"There's no one I'd rather be,"
Tears started forming in his eyes. The wrecker glanced at the little medal in his hand. He had to do this, for Vanellope. Soon he would be giant splatter on the volcano. Wreck-It Ralph took a deep breath, before uttering the last few words, barely a whisper.
"Than Me."
…
Yeah, it's short, I know, but hey, don't blame me! Also, I'm not sure how accurate I was here, since I only watched the movie once. Hope you enjoyed my overly dramatic writing. Reviews are very important to me, so please do that.
