Chapter 1 Feud in the night

As the mist fell, a young couple moved silently underneath the bright Kentucky moon. In the midst of this enchanting night, October night, the two smiled and looked toward the sky.

The girl, only about 20, broke the magical silence.

"Can you believe I'm getting to go to London?" Her smile brightened at this remark. "I mean, of all the people the president could've picked, he picked me!"

"Well you don't have to rub it in so much," her boy friend retorted.

"Excuse me?" the girl said, turning towards him. She was severely flustered.

"I said you don't have to"

"I know perfectly well what you said! I'm not deaf!"

"Then why did you ask?"

"What do you mean, 'Then why did you ask?'! You know perfectly well!"

"I'm afraid I don't know."

"Phew… ok… let's not get mad over spilled—"

"Just answer my question!"

"If you'll just give me a sec—"

"Answer my question!"

"But, b- b- but—"

" NO BUTS! WHY DID YOU SAY EXCUSE ME! NOW!"

"I… I um…"

"THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!"

With that last roar, the girl's eyes overflowed with silent tears. She crept up to her boy friend, making sure it was still him.

As she inched over, her boy friend lashed out, his palm meeting her cheek.

When he noticed the girl sprawled across the forest floor, he realized what he had done. "Oh no… I'm… sweetie…"

His girl friend, bursting with anger and distraught, only got up and walked away.

"Honey, come back."

But she walked on, never looking back.

"Come back!"

She quickly faded into the trees.

"GET BACK HERE!"

Giving no sign of his existence, she trudged on.

"Why I outta… AVADA KEDAVRA!"

A violent stream of crimson light, like the flickering tongues of a thousand blood –thirsty snakes, erupted from his wand, hurtling into the girl's direction.
