Hello everyone! This is my first ASOUE fic and I hope you all enjoy it. This takes place on the same Thursday where the V.F.D meeting was supposed to happen. Hope you like it!

She sat down and tried to cry. But she couldn't. She rubbed her stomach, which was kicking. Looking up, Kit Sniket thought about two of the men that ment the most to her; her brother and her husband, both of which had just died. If you have ever experienced the death of a loved one, may it be a friend or family, you may feel the need to cry, but can't. And then follows a time where you wish to be all alone, with no one to interrupt your scilence while you think over some things. Kit was in these moments. She couldn't say she wasn't surprise by her husbands death. In fact, she sort of suspected it. She was used to sudden tragic events. It seemed like that's all she knew since she was four.

Getting up slowly, she headed to the foot of the pond and looked down at the reflection of the bare sky and pieces of dead wood. But what see really was looking at,or for, was her husbands famous catalog. It could have perhaps save the world from Olaf. But when Dewey died, so with the only knowlege on how to get to the catalog itself. She put her hand into the pond as far as she could, as if hopeing to reach the catalog some how. Kit remembered the last time she talked to him. It was about a month before the Bauds came. She had to go and find the Baudelaires, while he stayed at the hotel.

"I'll see you later, ok?" he told her.

She smiled. "Of course."

"Remember," Dewey said taking her hand. "We still have to take care of that." He pointed at her stomach and gave her the last smile she would ever see on his face.

She smiled too, hinding her frown and the tears. "I love you. Goodbye."

Snapping out of her memories, she finally felt a lone tear drip down her pale white cheek. Pulling out her hand from the pond, she wipped it away and walked passed the pond, and pass the remains of the hotel to the cliff where the ocean lay, strong, noisy, and cold. The ocean. That's where she was when it happend. When she was little, she love it. Now she loathed it .She felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Ready to go now, Kit?" Isadora asked.

Without looking away from the water, Kit responded. "Yes. Let's go."

She turned to follow Isadora back to their taxi cab. They were on their was to The Prospero, where the Bauds, Olaf, and hopfully, her other brother, would be. As she walked up the slope, back to the clump of headges where she had once drivin through with the Baudelaires themselves, she stopped near the top. Isadora stopped too and looked back at Kit. Noticing she was fully crying, she decided to let her stop for a few more minutes, and go back to the taxi herself.

"Goodbye Dewey. I love, and will always love you." she wispered. Just then, as if it was carried in the wind, she heard a wisper.

"I love you too Kit. I'll miss you..."
