The Pregnancy Plan
(A/N: I wrote this at 12:32 at night because I was being tortured by the plot bunny, and couldn't sleep until this was on paper. Special shout-out to uniqueandbeautiful! )
Annabeth and I were both sitting on the floor of our bathroom in New Rome. A lot of us demi-gods had moved here after the war. After all, wasn't it better to live in Rome peacefully then open your front door to a gorgon that decided to serve pizza? I was trying to distract myself, waiting is never good, especially for a demi-god. My thoughts were directed at anything other than the small stick on the counter that was pretty much deciding our future, and let me tell you, it was as bad as anything the fates could throw at us. I was thinking about all that we had been through, when Annabeth interrupted my thoughts. " Percy", she whispered as if she was on the verge of tears, " I don't have a plan."
This comment confused me. So, in reply I asked "What?"
I could see the gears turning in her head, her trying to put this in a way I could understand. She repeated herself, this time a bit louder. "Percy, I don't have a plan."
She sighed then dropped to a whisper again, "I don't have a plan," she paused, before again rising in volume, "I don't have plan, and what kind of daughter of Athena doesn't have a plan?" She had now lost control of her emotions, screaming the last part of the sentence as tears rolled down her face. It was one of only the times I'd ever seen her cry. She quieted to a whisper again, this time barely audible, "What are we going to do if there's a-a", she started to stumble over her words; as if she couldn't bring herself to think there was a child inside her.
"What is our plan?" she finally whispered. Then the timer went off, and I stood up to get the pregnancy test. I didn't look at it; I figured we should do it together. "On the count of three" I said. I guess Annabeth couldn't wait, because I hear her mutter "Di immortales" when I was still on two. On three I opened my eyes to a crying Annabeth, I may not be the smartest man alive, but I think I knew what was on that stick. I looked at the small white pregnancy test in my hand and had my suspicions confirmed, Annabeth was pregnant.
(A/N:) Well, that was WAY more cliffy-ish than I intended it to be. I bought Serpent's Shadow today and can't wait to start reading it. I love it when you first crack open a new book. I wanted to add a line in there somewhere like "What do you have against Percy Jr., but it just didn't seem to fit. I love all my reviews, and will reply to all of them. Oh, and I wrote a haiku about the plot bunny.
Plot bunny attacks me,
While I really need to sleep,
Why oh why must it?
Well, I guess I'm not the next great poet. Until next time,
Lemon-Made
