Author's Note: So, you don't have to read Three Years before reading this. This can be read by itself. The structure of this is like the structure of Three Years. It'll start off with her thought of him when they first met and then progress to the Season 5 Finale. Anyways, read and review. Enjoy!
When she first saw him, she completely melted. She didn't care that he was one of the people that killed Ethan. James Ford was absolutely gorgeous in Juliet's eyes. She didn't care that one of his own people killed Goodwin, her lover. All she knew was that he was beautiful.
But then, there was Jack. Juliet adored the spinal surgeon and Ben knew it. That's the only reason Benjamin kept Jack at the barracks after her had completed the surgery. To taunt Juliet; she knew that she could never have Jack because he was leaving on the sub. But, she was leaving also. Even though they were both going back to the states, Juliet knew they would never be together. Jack was staying in L.A. while Juliet was going back to Miami where her sister and nephew were. The fact that Juliet could never have Jack just made her want James even more.
When Locke blew up the sub, Juliet was somewhat happy. Now she had the chance to try and create a life with Jack, while pushing James out of her thoughts. But then Jack left the little village and went back to the beach. True, Juliet went with him and the two stayed close for awhile, but then something happened and they began to drift apart. Jack went back to Kate, leaving Juliet alone. Then Jack and Kate got on the helicopter and left the island for what Juliet thought was going to be forever. After Jack and Kate left though, Juliet was left with James once again.
Flashes began to happen after they, Jack and Kate, left the island. Locke had to leave so the flashes would stop. Once he left, the flashes did stop, and they were in the year 1974. James took the leader role, Jack's role, and Juliet began to have her infatuation with him again. She always loved the leader. She was a follower; Juliet had always been a follower.
To her surprise, James liked her back. The two of them started their own life in Dharmaville. They played house together. For three years they lived together in their own little world; they pretended everything was normal. During those three years, Juliet fell in love.
In those three years, James became her rock. The only person she cared for and counted on. She knew that he loved her too. When Jack, Kate, and Hurley came back though, Juliet became scared. She knew that she was over Jack, but Juliet was not sure that James was over Kate. So, while watching Jack and Kate out the window one day, she asked James. Juliet asked if this was the end of their game of house because she, Kate, was back.
When she asked him that, he just looked down at her. Juliet stared into his gray eyes and then he promised her that they would always be together. James kissed Juliet, and she took his word on it.
Now Juliet was lying at the bottom of a hole, slowly dying. She knew the bomb was next to her. Instinctively, Juliet reached out for it. Part of her wanted to detonate the bomb. Then they all could go back to 2004. But another part of her didn't want to detonate it; if she did, James would go back on the plane and they would have never met. Juliet didn't know which was worse. Meeting James, falling in love with him, and then losing him, or not meeting him at all. In the end, Juliet managed to detonate the bomb and everything flashed to white. Everything was over for good for Juliet.
