The cold droplets of rain splashed against the car window as Shawn made his way home from a tiring day of work on what must have been the coldest day of the year. All Shawn could think about was how much he missed his wife. A week had almost passed since he last seen her and all he wanted to do was go home and be with her and their unborn child. Having a wonderful wife who love him despite his problems and to be blessed with the gift of becoming a father was enough to make any man overwhelmed, especially Shawn, who thought his life was over just a few months back, that was until he found Rebecca of course, and now they were going to start a family. Shawn was positive that nothing was going to ruin this, including himself, who at the time would have been the most likely candidate.

The rain continued to get heavier and heavier until it reached a stage where it was impossible to see anything passed the stream of water that would continuously pour down the window, almost exactly like multiple waterfalls. Although, this definitely didn't cause any hesitation to the desperate man trying to get to his wife.

As Shawn reached out to turn on the radio, hoping it might speed up the awful journey he was being forced to take, his phone began to ring which made Shawn slightly jolt from him seat, only to be relieved to know that i was Rebecca. He put the phone to his ear and before he was even able to say hello, his worried wife was just happy to hear the sound of his voice.

"Hey, I've been worried about you. It's not safe to be driving in this weather."

Shawn cracked a smile, knowing his wife was worrying about him was always nice to know.

"I'm sorry babe, i was just trying to get home as soon as possible, especially before this rain gets any worse. Il be home soon though, so stop your worrying."

As Shawn waited for an answer, he came to a sudden hault as loud echoing screams came from the other end of the phone almost deafening Shawn. A rush of worry and panic struck him as he began calling Rebecca's name in sheer horror hoping somewhat that he would receive and answer and when he didn't, he was now even more determined to get home and reached his wife. Not giving the slightest toss if he broke the speed limit or went through any red lights, what he did care about however, was the safety of his pregnant wife.

As the car quickly came to a stop at the house, Shawn sprinted in the front door leaving the keys in the ignition and door wide open, which was obviously the last thing on his minds. He frantically ran from room to room in desperate search for his wife.

"Rebecca! Rebecca!" He angrily called, only to be stopped in his tracks when he seen a blood covered body lying on the floor, half naked. Shawns heart immediately crushed as he made his way over to his wife, covering up her naked form and pulling her into his arms. She was dead. His whole world came crashing down on him all at once, how could someone do something so horrible? Shawn stood up and backed away from his wife's body, hopelessly trying to take in what had happened. Just then, Shawn heard a sudden movement coming from behind him, causing him to quickly turn around, only to get a slight glance of who must have been the attacker, before getting a sudden blow to the head, making Shawn crash to the floor mere inches away from his wife's body.
