-1Prologue: The Fall

"Jake, can we go cliff diving now?" I pleaded. Ever since he left, I would do just about anything to hear his voice.

"Sure, sure, but I have to go talk to Sam for a minute." he told me, "I'll be right up."

"Okay!" I chirped. I was going to hear his voice again! I started my rusty truck and headed up the cliff. When I finally got to the top, I decided to peer over the edge to greet the crashing waves that I was about to collide into.

"Stay back, Bella." the voice in my head warned. I smiled as I took a step closer to the edge. "Bella." he growled. I took another step and peered over the edge. "Bella, no!" he called. This time it sounded real. I jumped, lost my balance, and fell off the edge of the cliff. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't bring myself to open mouth. What was the point? I heard Edward and knew that he would save me, but as I looked at the cliff, I saw no one. My mind was playing tricks on me, again. A single tear escaped the corner of my eye before I crashed into the freezing waves. I was being throw around in the water and started to find it hard to breathe. Why wasn't Edward here? As my eye sight began to dim, I saw a flash of red.
