Author's Note: I'm watching The Lorax so if there's some rhyming (like a lot), that's why. Also, I have a headache rn and only a few minutes before I have to go to work.
Disclaimer: I do not own Inside Out or any characters.
Fear's POV:
Tonight was a night just like any night. A night that was full of terror and fright. The duty of watching dreams is not as easy as it seems. Snakes, clowns, and lots of frowns. This dream is not what it seems. Riley has the power to speak to trees.
(Author's Note: I'm back from work now)
"Buzz, buzz, buzz" said a tall oak tree.
"Huh?" was Riley's response before she saw it was filled with bees. She tried to run, but she shrunk and fell in a giant cup. I hope I didn't wake anybody up.
The scene changes and it seems pretty cool. It's Riley in her old town. She's swimming in a pool. But there's a witch who pours a potion and makes the pool an ocean. But when Riley looks around, she's flying high above the ground. Riley can fly with balloon power high in the sky.
Disgust's POV:
Why did we let Fear watch the dreams? He keeps screaming and whining while I'm trying to sleep. It's probably one. This isn't fun. Joy and Sadness and Anger are as awake as a coat hanger. Somebody needs to do something to calm Fear down, but alas, I'm the only one around. I get up and go to the main part of Headquarters. I don't want to scare him so I stand at the corridor.
I stand there and observe and I notice something. I notice that Fear might not be as annoying as I was thinking. My mind had been clouded from a lack of sleep, which made me tired and somewhat cranky. In reality, being awake gave me some clarity.
Fear's POV:
I take a minute to get away from the screen. I go to get coffee and see something green. I see something beautiful. So pretty, it could be a queen.
"Hey, Disgust." I say with a smile. " Are you alright? You look like you've been up for a while."
"Yeah, I couldn't sleep. I've even tried counting sheep."
"Well, since you're awake, would you like to join?" On the screen, Riley found a shiny coin.
"Sure. It's not like I've got anything better to do. I'll be right back." She went to get some fluffy slipper shoes. They have bunnies which look cute and funny.
(A few hours later)
"Hey Disgust? I'd like to ask you a question, pretty please. I was kinda sorta wondering if you would like to go out with me?" I asked that very nervously.
"Last night, I thought you were annoying and weak, but you've proved me wrong. You were actually a pretty awesome guy all along. I would love to go out with you." She said looking as beautiful as she would normally do.
No POV:
And so the two spent the rest of the night watching dreams together, full of delight. They were happy together, closer than best friends forever.
Author's Note: I hope you enjoyed. This was supposed to be a one-shot, but if you want, I can continue it or make a sequel (they won't be rhyming). Please be nice when it comes to reviews. I have a headache and it's late at night.
