I rewatched the Order of the Phoenix yesterday. Slightly Creepy Boy/Michael Corner has awesome hair. xP

Michael rested his head on his hands, looking across the table at his date. He wasn't even sure why she'd asked him - yeah, she'd asked him, honestly, he hadn't been planning on coming in the first place - seeing as they'd never had a conversation other than "Watch out so that Blast-Ended Skrewt doesn't eat you" in Care of Magical Creatures.

He couldn't even really remember her name. She was a Hufflepuff, he knew that much. Abbott, maybe. Whoever she was, she wasn't a very good dancer. They'd danced to the third song played and it was only through Michael's superior coordination that he was able to avoid falling over. Yeah. That's how bad she was.

"Hannah!"

The girl across from him looked up. Michael silently praised whatever stupid probably-Hufflepuff had saved him.

"Hi, Ernie," she said. Michael rolled his eyes. Ernie? What a Hufflepuff name. "Michael, I'm going to go dance with Ernie. Is... is that alright with you?"

Michael nodded, rolling his eyes again. Then he was alone. Thank God.

Or at least, he was alone until a pretty redhead sat down next to him, her guy going off to get some drinks. Michael had seen the girl before... quite a few times, actually. Her date was Longbottom, no doubt about that.

"Hi," she said. Michael sat up and nodded, taking in the shiny red hair, brown eyes, freckles... the dress looked a little hand-me-down-ish,, was she a Weasely?

"I swear I've seen you before," Michael said slowly. "You're like, everywhere I go."

She blinked. "That's creepy. I'm Ginny, by the way."

"Michael Corner," he said. "This is a good song; feel up to dancing?"

She looked at her date. Michael followed her gaze. Longbottom had dropped both cups and was scrambling to clean it up. Michel rolled his eyes for the third recorded time that night.

"Yeah, sure," she said. Just as she said that, a slow song began to play. He stood up and offered her his hand, leading her out to the dance floor.

Of course they ended up dancing beside one of her brothers - Fred or George. Michael wasn't a fan of the Weasley twins for reasons that shall go unspoken.

"I like your hair," she said, taking one hand and touching a strand right beside his left eye. "It's so soft and pretty."

"Yours is, too," Michael said. She grinned at him. Michael wondered why she hadn't just touched some of his hair that was near her hand in the first place.

Michael's hair was getting a little long. But he kept it clean, washed it every day with the best shampoo and conditioner he could find, and it was a good conversation piece.

They spent most of the night together. Michael had no qualms about ignoring Hannah, but Ginny eventually felt bad about ignoring Longbottom and they split, leaving Michael to his table for one - or, table for four with a sulking Ravenclaw inhabiting it.

If you want to know what exactly Fred and George Weasley did to Michael, it should be up on my fic 'Get Over It' tonight or tomorrow night. x3
