The Land Before Time XXIII: The Green Food Shortage

Littlefoot and co are with their new friend Huaya the Spiketail and defend him from the bully Longneck Plo. However, more serious trouble happens when plants start dying across the Great Valley, forcing them more and more to go into the Mysterious Beyond for food and face dangerous Sharpteeth. Can the Gang find the source of the problem before the Great Valley loses all its food?

Littlefoot and his friends were with Spike's new friend, Huaya. He was a Spiketail, albeit a smaller one than Spike. He, like Spike, was shy, though, unlike Spike, he did talk. He had come to the Great Valley recently with his mother and father.

"So, how do you like it here?" asked Littlefoot.

"Beats the Mysterious Beyond by far. Lots of great food here." said Plo.

Plo took a bite out of some fruit from a tree. He spat it out in disgust. "Except this one!" he said.

"Hmmm, that one looks sick." commented Littlefoot.

The next day, the fruit on the tree had died. The day after that, the tree had wilted and it was clear that it would never grow back again.

"I guess it was just its time." commented Cera.

However, this tree was to only be the beginning.
