AN/ I own the idea of the play's plot line.
"Rory, honey, the town is putting on a play, and I think that you would be just perfect for the lead!" Miss Patty announced, strolling up to Rory, who was standing outside Dooses waiting for Dean.
"What's the play about?" Rory asked.
"Oh! It's all very romantic! A mother and daughter move from their hometown, to go to Europe because there's a better job for the mother there. The daughter leaves behind a boyfriend that she loves. But, she finds love in Europe and on their wedding day, the love from her past comes to Europe and breaks up the wedding! Meanwhile, the mother also finds love in Europe. The daughter falls back in love with her old love interest. But, don't worry we show that the new boyfriend marries someone else and is happy. In the end the four of them, the mother, the daughter, and their two beaus ride off into the sunset! Kirk is going to supply the sunset! He knows some people in the drama department in Hartford. We're going to set up a big stage light in the middle of the stage for the sunset!"
"Blinding."
"We supply sunglasses." Miss Patty stated.
"What day is the play on?" Rory wanted to know.
"Next Saturday." Miss Patty told her.
"Okay. I'll do it." Rory agreed.
"Wonderful! I'll post the cast list on my studio door by tomorrow." Miss Patty headed off.
Lorelai was sitting in Luke's sipping coffee, when Miss Patty approached her; "Lorelai would you like to play the mother in the town play."
Miss Patty explained the play to Lorelai, who agreed when she found out that Rory was in it.
Rory and Lane were walking down the street talking about the play, when they ran into Dean.
"Rory, guess who's gonna play your love interest in Europe!" Dean smiled.
"Mr. Bean?" Rory asked with a strait face.
"Me!"
"That's great, Dean!" Rory exclaimed.
She noticed Jess listening to their conversation, while leaning on a light pole a few feet away.
He smiled at her and then disappeared around a corner.
"I can't wait to see who's gonna play my love interest!" Lorelai crowed.
Rory and Lorelai were eating pizza and talking, while sitting on the couch.
"I bet its Kirk!" Rory chuckled.
Lorelai shuttered.
"Or Taylor!" Rory went on.
Lorelai squeaked.
"Oh! It's probably the town troubadour!" Rory nodded.
Lorelai stopped munching on her pizza for a moment, to stare at Rory, "Are you just trying to give me the willies?"
"I think if it's the troubadour, I can get Miss Patty to work in a serenading scene for you!" Rory joked.
"That's not funny!" Lorelai cried.
Lorelai and Rory rushed to Miss Patty's studio the next day, to see who would play their beaus in the play.
When they got to the list, both their jaws dropped.
"Jess?" Rory read off the list. He would play her old boyfriend, who breaks up the wedding.
"Luke?" Lorelai read off the list. He would play her love interest in Europe.
