CJ sat at her desk wondering what it would be like to have a man hold her while she was crying. Lately, when the tears threatened to fall, she would close herself into her office and fall apart alone on her couch. She would get up about 20 minutes later, put herself back together, and face the world in her strong stubborn woman mode.
Today was no different; ever since she had gotten the disturbing phone call from her father, she was not able to hold it together. This morning she had gone about her day, praying she could hold it together and by lunchtime, she was doing ok. She decided to join Donna and Carol in the mess for lunch, that had been a good idea, she laughed for the first time in days.
"Okay everyone that is a full lid." CJ began the walk back to her office.
"CJ" CJ turned to see Danny following her down the stairs to her office. 'Ok CJ you can handle this' she thought as she kept her stride long and brisk.
"Danny, what can I do for you?"
"Well, CJ you seemed a little distracted back there are you ok?"
"Yeah, Danny, I am fine." 'How does he know these things? Has he gotten to know me that well?'
"Okay, if you say so..." Danny said skeptical as to what she was hiding from him.
CJ hoped that would be the end of Danny hovering at her side, but she was wrong. Danny was at her heels as she walked into her office. She went about her tasks as if he was not there, until she heard the door close behind him. She forced herself not turn around, but she could feel his warmth coming closer. Without turning around CJ said, "Danny?" He didn't answer, but he was closer now, she could feel his breath on her neck, warm and inviting. When she did turn around, they were nose to nose. "Danny what the..." Danny stopped her complaints with a kiss that brought warmth to CJ's entire body. Danny slowly pulled away, but CJ was still so caught up in the kiss that she didn't open her eyes until Danny's warm hand tucked a small strand of hair behind CJ's ear. This made CJ smile, but as she opened her eyes, she was struck with the reality of where they were and what he had just done. "Danny, you can't do that here!"
"You didn't seem to be complaining a moment ago." Danny said with a sneaky grin.
"Danny..."
"Okay, okay I am leaving"
"No wait!" CJ said forcefully as she grabbed Danny's tie and pulled him into a kiss that drained the blood from Danny's head to other places of his body.
"W..w.....e...l...l...l alright, what was that?" CJ turned and walked around her desk with a grin spreading across her face. She turned to face him, with a serious look.
"Time for you to leave....bye Danny"
"Uh...well.. okay, bye" Danny walked out of CJ's office knowing that no matter what, the passion that they had between them would last as long as it took until conflict of interest meant nothing anymore.
