A.N. This is based on the ending of the most recent Castle episode 'Heroes and Villains'. I particularly liked this episode for incorporating the Comic book element and the mirroring of the Castle-Beckett relationship through the writer and his muse. I thought that the ending needed a bit of tweaking though to mirror it better and even though this probably would never happen, one can only dream. So here it is...
Enjoy
"A writer and his muse, fighting crime." Castle said to Beckett as they watched them enter the elevator hand in hand. "Just like us." He smiled.
"Mmm." Beckett agreeed quietly, as they continued to watch them, soft smiles lingering on the faces after their interaction with Gates.
That was until they turned to each other and both lent in for a kiss as the elevator doors closed.
An awkward tension passed between the two at the events that unfolded in front of them. As Beckett watched, she tensed and sucked in her lips in an attempt to hide her smile. Castle's eyes flicked over to Beckett and then turned his head to look at Beckett, doing a double take as he saw the expression on her face. He saw Beckett's eyes flick over to him and she released her lips.
With each second that passed by, the tension seemed to become thicker and thicker.
"Oh, what the hell!" He whispered as he placed his hand on her cheek and lent in to meet her lips. He felt Beckett immediately freeze under his lips and her whole body tense under his touch but ignored it and focused on the feeling of her lips against his that he had wanted so badly to feel since they did so to save Ryan and Esposito.
When he slowly pulled away, his lips gradually sepatated from hers. His eyes gradually slipped open, only to see her eyes wide open. He slowly slipped his hand away from her cheek and back down to his side, all the while keeping his eyes locked on hers. He moved out of her personal space and asked her;
"So tomorrow?"
"Mmmhmm." She replied, still slightly daised.
"K." He replied quickly, polightly giving her the out that he thought she needed, the space that he tought she needed in order to work out what just happened between then, and turned and walked the other way.
If he had turned around, he would have seen the smile that crept onto her face.
