And so it begins with the brain. The centre of thought. Thought; the beginning of everything. Of existence, of belief, of purpose, of meaning, of real. The only way you understand.

House (MD)

The hospital. The stomping ground. Your territory. Your purpose. You feel comfortable. You know you belong. Know you excel. You know you make a difference here.

Or do you? Perhaps you are merely an influencee rather than an influencer. Perhaps our environment shapes who we are; perhaps we are merely products of the chance of environment. And perhaps this hospital is giving you more than you are giving it.

Ah, Hugh Laurie. The centre, the purpose, the spirit. Just like the brain. Without the brain there can be no body. Without House there can be no House MD. You need to understand your purpose and you think that rational and logic is the key. You will see.

Foreman; the chest. Sometimes you wonder whether you are like House at all. Wonder if you are really "just a nicer version" of the genius. Another person to claim your achievements. You long for your own achievements. To be yourself. Nothing less. Nothing more.

Wilson; the centre of learning. You have a lot to teach. Always the rock, always there to lend an ear and offer advice. But those who teach need also be taught, and somewhere underneath the facade of reliability and perfection you know this. Know it like you know the sun will rise tomorrow.

Cameron; A river that twists and turns where it likes. A chance for freedom. To grow and become the who you want to be. No longer naive, yet you won't harden. To break free from the past and forget the burden of grief. Emancipation.

Chase; the backbone. Time to stand up for yourself.

As they walk down the corridor for the millionth time they have little idea that every step is one step closer to their realisation. Life is a journey, and this is a chapter. At the end, the prize.
