Objects in Motion
Sam was only ever truly at rest while at Stanford - before and since he had been moving. Growing up on the road he had always been hurrying, trying to catch up to Dean. After returning to the hunt, they'd finally chased the things that lurked in the dark as equals.
They never stopped, rarely looked back. They had one another, the hunt, and the road stretching endlessly before and behind. It was how they were meant to be. Until Dean was ripped away from him, blood mingling with tears sharpened by regret. And suddenly Sam didn't know how to move.
