The sunlight filtered in, hitting him mercilessly and forcing him to open his eyes. Adjustment took awhile, but when he had finally gotten used to it, he turned to his side and smiled.

It was empty. No. It wasn't cold, sad, miserable. It was filled with light. The raven's sleeping face staring back up at him, chest moving slowly, steadily. The blonde had to pinch himself to make sure it wasn't a dream. It wasn't.

He settled back into the bed, sighing in content. So this was what happiness felt like. This was how it was like looking forward to every new day, every new experience. To think all he needed to get his heart beating again was the warmth of a body next to him, the extreme comfort it brought. To think he was the one to bring said warmth and comfort.

Who'd have thought?

The two monsters of Ikebukuro.

There was a stir suddenly and the raven got up, exposing his bare body, as if woken up by the blonde's constant thoughts of him.

"Good morning," Shizuo greeted with a little anxiety. It seemed he did not even need to worry though as Izaya gazed back at him.

"Good morning, Shizu-Chan."

The smiled blinded him and he suddenly felt that much lighter.

The informant hopped off the bed, picking up the clothes that had been thrown there the previous night and the blonde suddenly feared he might leave.

But instead, the raven turned to look at him.

"Breakfast?"

"...Sure."

"Want to shower with me?"

The grin surfaced without awareness.

"...Sure."

Who'd have thought?
