1.
Torren thinks that Batman is actually quite scary but he'd never tell that to Uncle Ronon or Uncle John because he knows they would laugh at him. And it's not even that the cartoon is scary – though the Joker had given him nightmares – it's just that since that time he was stuck in that cave on Athosia with those bats, he'd never really liked bats. So he's scared of Batman and also doesn't really understand why a man would want to imitate something so horrible, anyway.

Uncle Rodney insists that Spider-Man is the worst of all the super heroes – even worse than Daredevil – because there is no such thing as radioactive spiders because if a spider became radioactive it would surely die – but Torren quite likes him. He thinks it's cool that he can fly about the city with cool web-y stuff. And the song the lady sings is pretty cool, too, though he'd never admit that to anyone either.

Torren thinks that Uncle John thinks he is Mr Fantastic sometimes. His mother told him once, after they had watched the movie with the real people instead of the cartoons, that he had said the team was like the fantastic four. But Torren can't imagine what would make his mother the invisible woman, though he thinks it's funny that Uncle John imagines Uncle Ronon as the thing. But, as they both laughed about, Rodney was definitely no Johnny Storm. So maybe Uncle John could be both but Torren secretly thinks that Uncle Rodney should be Mr Fantastic because he's the scientist, even though Uncle John is the leader.
The Fantastic Four confuses him, so he doesn't really like watching it anymore.
4.
After the first time Torren watched X-Men, he'd had a dream about Uncle Ronon and Wolverine fighting. Uncle Ronon had won but his face was all cut up and ever since then, he's hated Wolverine. He knows it's silly because it was just a dream but he doesn't like the idea of anyone hurting his family.
5.
There's not a movie about him and he will never admit it to anyone but his mother but his favourite superhero is Uncle John. He's listened for years to the stories everyone tells about him being a hero and Uncle John even climbed up the outside of the main tower to help save his mother. And he can fly, too. And he's saved the city so many times. And when Torren has his nightmares about Wolverine and Uncle Ronon, or being in the cave with the bats, it's Uncle John who sits with him and tells him stories that make Torren feel brave. He doesn't like his mother knowing that he cries but he knows sometimes she stands outside Torren's bedroom and watches them; it helps make him feel braver when he manages to stop crying by himself.
So when his mother asks him if he would like Uncle John to become his sort of father (a 'step dad' Uncle John had called it) he hadn't been able to think of anything other than "Yes, yes, yes!"
Because who wouldn't want the best super hero as their dad?
