Dead. At least he sure looked like he was at the verge of death.

Young teens of the age of 13 just witnessed one of their first monster attacks. These clueless children are demigods, also known as half-bloods. Even though they are godly children, they are very unaware of it. In fact, they don't have a one bit of clues they are even somebodies, because they are treated like a nobody. Well except for the monsters lurking nearby. And the suspicious satyr that has a good gut feeling that these two have a great role in something.

Oh, did I forget to introduce them to you! Crap. I forget some of the most important things. As I mentioned earlier, they are both of the age of 13. Brother and sister. Denis and Thea Tune. They aren't twins the brother is older by several months.

Anyways, back to the conflict. At their new school, which they already have had a horrible experience with, one of their teachers dies from some kind of poison. Denis and Thea know the conditions of poison, because once their mother was a nurse, but she passed away, supposedly.

Of course, all the students screamed their heads off. "WHA-WHAT IS HAPPENING!" Screamed Denis "H-HOW IS HE BEING POISONED!"

Another student, by the name Zack Thornton always suspected Denis and Thea of causing trouble. He wasn't a bully, but merely a snitch. Zack immediately alerted any nearby teachers and claimed that he even saw Denis trying to smuggle some weird liquid, and witnessed Thea pouring it into the coffee machine. As Thea noticed an infuriated expression coming their way,

it was their least favorite grammar teacher, .

Ms. Gwenda was the meanest, evilest lady. She even put another student in ISS for refusing to answer a question when he was called on. She didn't seem so bad, just an average mean teacher, but the scary part the siblings didn't realize, was that she is a monster.

The satyr around just noticed the commotion. "That smell. That is definitely not good."

"Where are those kids?"

Suddenly, turned into catlike creature with a set of dragon wings and a large scorpion looking tail with hundreds upon hundreds of spikes. With shock on their faces, the godly children ran for their dear lives.

They ran through the door almost to the street to call a cab. Before they could get there, the satyr stopped them in their tracks. Of course, the satyr didn't look like one because he wore shaggy pants to cover up his furry legs and shoes to hide his hooves. "Listen, you have to trust me. Just follow me and you'll be safe."

"How can we trust you? First of all who are you and what was that thing?" Questioned Thea.

"Believe it or not, I've been protecting you." Claimed the satyr. "That thing is a manticore, a monster. There isn't much time to explain, we need to leave before we get skewered by those deadly horns. C'mon."

"But I don't get it… What is this… Why?" Said one Confused Denis.
