It is night in Baltimore City. In one of the tallest office buildings in the city, a man stands looking out of his window. It seem that he was looking past the city horizon to some else. For few the past last few days he has been looking towards the west. He always looked in this direction from time to time, but now it has a different meaning. For seventeen years he's been waiting. In another year he will be able to claim back what is rightfully his. In one year he will be able to claim his son.
A woman walks up behind him and wraps her arms around him. He lets out sigh to acknowledge her presence near him. "Husband, what is on your mind?" she asks him lovingly.
"You know what I am thinking about." He answers as he looks at her over his shoulder. "I am thinking about him."
She moves herself around him positioning herself between him and that window. He was right; she did know what he was thinking, because she was thinking it to. For eighteen years she too had to watch their son from afar. It has caused her great pain to watch what he had to go through. She will make the mortal pay for the crimes that he committed to her son.
"You will be going to him soon?" he asks trying hard to hide his jealousy.
"Yes" she says simply with a smile. "I have to prepare him for his trials."
A moment passes as they look at each other. They both remember the trials that they went through. "The trials will take place in one year. Prepare him will Shante, or should call you Ama-no-Uzume."
"I will Donavon, or should I call you Ame-no-Koyane." Shante says.
They both smile at the names that they haven't called each other in centuries. "When will you be leaving?"
"I will leave in the morning." She replies. "I wanted to spend one last night with you before I leave for Japan."
A smile grows on his face. "I will make this night one to sustain you." With that Ame-no-Koyane picks up Ama-no-Uzume and walks towards their bedroom.
A young Japanese man sits at his desk in his English class. The class was boring to him, but for the life of him couldn't why. Before it was that he was teach that a martial artist don't need stuff like a good education. Then one day during mediation a door open in his mind. Endless knowledge just seems to pour into his into his mind, information nonstop coming to him. The best way he could describe it is that he was connected to everything around him. With everything that is going on he knew that a guide would be coming. "Ranma Saotome needs help." He silently admitted to himself.
