Brennan sat down near the back of the church. She flattened down the front of her dress to avoid looking at the alter for a few more moments. Then she looked at all the other people in the church. She only knew a small few of them. A few agents, and of course everyone from the lab. Finally her eyes rested on the few people standing at the alter. Cam was gorgeous. Her hair was pulled back off her face and her long white dress was perfect on her. everything about her right then was just perfect. Felicia, her sister, stood beside her looking equally gorgeous. Brennan followed Cam's eye-line across the alter to Booth. It felt weird being there. She still didn't think she should have come. But he'd asked her especially to come for him. So she'd arrived late enough to avoid everyone before it, but not so late that she was rude. Looking back at the alter she just watched Booth standing there in his suit. She couldn't take her eyes off him. He smiled over at Cam who smiled back. He then looked down the church and Brennan looked down at her lap to avoid catching his eye. She picked up the booklet in front of her. she read it and felt that strange feeling come over her again. She had never expected this day ever. She read the cover again.

Brennan gave a small laugh under her breath. Her ex and Booth's ex were getting married. And Booth was the best man. She had known about this day for a few months now yet it was still a shock to see the two of them up there. he had arrived home three years after he had left, in a new boat called Serenity. They had tried to make it work again, but she soon realized that there was only one man she wanted to be with and that no-one else even came close. Sully had realized that too. And now over two and a half years later he was marrying Cam, and Brennan was happy for him. For both of them. Watching him place a ring on Cams finger, she thought about what things might have been like if she'd gone with him. Sailed off with him all those years ago. Would it have been her up there today? Would he have been able to talk her into marriage. God how different her life could have been with that one decision. As the newlyweds walked down the aisle together followed by Cams sister and Booth, he gripped her shoulder and grinned winking at her. Brennan twisted her own two rings on her finger. Her mothers and her newly acquired engagement ring. And she knew that even though she still had that strange feeling, she had most definitely made the right choices…
