It's a world of Doms/subs. The Cullen's are invited to attend the birthday party of dominant Jacob Black who finds his submissive in Edward as soon as he lays eyes on him. They mate right away and then Edward flees after Jacob leaves the tent infuriating him. Jacob later finds him scared and huddled on his bed in his home crying ad after receiving punishment from his dominant Edward confesses she is afraid because everyone he grows to love leaves him.
