Harry Potter/Torchwood/Doctor Who Challenge
(Simply due to Jack)
General Premise
Harry is sent to the future and becomes Captain Jack Harkness.
Guidelines
How Harry gets to the future: (five ways)
Pre-Hogwarts – After a beating, child Harry's magic transports him to the future.
Third year – An accidents with the time turner (it gets broken, Harry turns it the wrong way, whatever)
Fifth year – Harry goes through the veil (either instead of Sirius or gets forced through)
Seventh year – When Harry "dies" instead of going back to his time, he get sent to the future so that he can learn about "the power he knows not".
If you have an idea for an accident THAT MAKES SENSE, you can use it, just be sure to explain exactly what happens to change HP canon.
For the a-c &e (or if you decide to keep Sirius alive, d) how they find Harry/Jack in present time is up to you, as Harry would no longer think of himself as Harry, so a Point-Me spell wouldn't work, although I would like Sirius to attempt so Black Family magic that does find him (if you choose this). Alternatively, you can have Jack decide to come back in d ( or b, c, or e depending on the scenario) – due to either a desire (wants to come back to help/ see everyone again) or an order (suspicious Death Eater activity is thought to be alien).
Jack's Past – you can be as explicit or as vague as you want, although I would like you to explain how he became Jack. I would like you to follow what little canon info as best you can, (maybe insert flashback to explain things, or a chapter explaining it when it happens – like the two years that Jack doesn't remember andwhy) and when Jack travels with the Doctor & in Torchwood, having his thoughts would be nice (doesn't matter if it's third or first person, either work). Also, since there isn't an official timeline for HP you can move it up to coincide with Torchwood's timeline.
Harry's age in the future – if it's easier to de-age him when he goes to the future, fine, but if you want to find a way to explain Jack's past with Him reaching the future older, go for it. (It, however, must make sense.)
Torchwood Three – I personally would like the original team to help Jack (Ianto, Tosh, Owen, and Gwen) with the Dark Lord issue. And if you want, you can have the Doctor stop by with whatever companion you wish.
Lastly, I know Jack doesn't talk about his past much, so what he tells his friends about his reasons for helping is up to you, and depends mainly on if he decides or gets found.
Sorry for all the guidelines, but I've never done a challenge before, and I wanted to give enough info and choices to whoever decides to write this. Mainly, because I want it to be good. I mean, I've seen several Ianto is Harry ones (which I love!) but I've only seen one Jack is Harry, and it was sad, cause Harry was forced to stop being Jack, but it made me fall in love with the concept. And since I'm in summer school (drowning alive here!), and because of college in general, I have no time to write. All I ask is that if you decide to take up the story, send me a PM so that I can read it!
