Remember when Annabeth swore on the River Styx to Chiron that she would protect Percy and keep him safe? When Chiron was temporarily banned from Camp... when Tantalus came?
Percy still remembers that.
He wondered if he needed that protection from her still. He wondered... But he knew that he still needed that protection. Annabeth would help him in ways that he sometimes didn't realize... Ways that sometimes weren't just for him physically, but mentally.
Like the way he loves Annabeth and Annabeth loves him.
Lying on his bed, he thought about Annabeth. Annabeth was like the flavor in the cake to him, or the color in the world. Without her, he'd probably be boring, unstable, and... sad.
He wondered how Annabeth and one love could change his life forever- but he knew the answer to that.
"You know I'd kick your butt."
"I'm the child of the goddess of wisdom."
"Athena always has a plan."
"I love you, Seaweed Brain."
Percy sighed.
"It's okay, Annabeth... We're together."
Everything he remembered.
Every memory he had, without Hera needing to mess up his life more.
Everything he needed.
He was the luckiest person in the world.
