Melodies of Life

Far away in the long forgotten meadow by a river and ten steps to the right you'll find the magnificent Kingdom of Alexandria. This Kingdom was grand and blessed. The birds chipped happily flying in the clear blue sky. In this kingdom live a beautiful Princess who was the tender age of seventeen; she has long raven hair, gentle brown eyes, a small build, and the sweetest smile to ever grace someone's face. Her only wish is to help the people of her Kingdom and to do anything she can to protect them. She goes by the name Garnet. The Graceful and wise beyond her year princess was everything that Queen Brahne thought she'd grow up to be. That was until the princess met the thief.

She scaled the Castle walls; she knew her plan was fool proof this time. Once she was over the wall she put up the hood of her white mage cloak and made her way into the village. There was an ominous moon in the jewel filled sky and she could tell something big was about to happen. As if it was fated, when Garnet round the corner, a group of men came running out of the jewelers store causing a commotion in the street. She gasped as the men ran right toward her; she turned toward the wall kneeled down, as if it was going to hide her. The sounds of shoes meeting pavement soon vanished and she stood up. Well she straightened herself out and turned around there was a man standing before her. He was handsome, blonde hair, sharp features, and the most memorizing teal eyes.

"Are you lost?" He spoke in a deep voice full of emotion and mischief. The Princess blinked at a loss of words and looked around. The thief chuckled under his breath. "I'll take that as a yes." He grabbed her hand and dragged her along with him before she was able to mumble a word. The Princess looked at their hand, his wrapped around hers and blushed. "My name's Zidane." He gave the princess and side smile. "Don't worry princess, I'll keep you safe." He winked at the dumbfounded girl as he led them into the tavern, which was his group of bandits hide out. The princess so found herself giggling and having a good time with the band of thieves when someone kicked down the door.

Garnet protested and even confronted her mother about the arrest. The Queen shot a dark glare at her daughter; she had brought shame to the royal name. Brahne than gave Garnet a disappointed frown to her, but said nothing. Frustrated, Garnet ran out of the throne room all the way to her bedroom. She paced as she thought of a way to stop the execution. This was all her fault, ZIdane's life was in her hands. Not just his, the others, his friends, a band of brothers, they were his family. How would she be able to live with herself it they are killed, their blood would be on her hands. She had to think of something before it was too late.

The day of the execution had come much more quickly than Garnet had originally planned. She now sat next to her mother in front of the Gibbet, the instrument that her mother had chosen for this execution. Garnet wiggled uncomfortably in her chair as she watched the people walked in and took a seat waiting for the show to start as Zidane and his gang were brought into the room. The noise of people talking completely cut off and a look silence took over as the Judge read out the sentence. People started to cheer are the ropes were placed around their necks. Garnet's eyes watered as they met Zidane's beautiful teal ones for the last time.
