CSI, Cath/Sara, LA – No idea if I'm messing with canon. It's been awhile since I've watched CSI … like at least two seasons.

"Any idea as to why we are driving to LA for this conference?" asked Sara from behind the wheel of the black Tahoe.

"Supposedly, it's cheaper than flying us there and having us rent a car. Although, considering the price of gas, I find that very hard to believe," Catherine replied from the passenger seat, not picking her nose up from the book she had started reading at the beginning of the journey.

Sara stared at the black pavement in front of the car trying to imagine the curving road as a mathematical equation that might eventually make this trip make sense. "Whatever the economic reasoning, why are we the ones going?"

At this question, Catherine did pick her head up to look at Sara who was still staring out the windshield with all the intensity of a newly permitted sixteen year old. "Sara, when was the last time you took a vacation?"

Sara took her eyes off the road briefly to glance at her co-worker's face. "I'm not quite sure what that has to do with going to the conference," she deflected.

"We're going to be in LA, Sara. Land of celebrities and beaches. And this conference is only going to be half days as far as I can tell from the brochure."

"So? What does that have to do with vacations?" Sara's voice trailed off. "You've joined Grissom on his 'make Sara take a vacation' campaign, haven't you?"

Catherine knew that Sara was smart enough to figure the plan out. "It's actually the entire night shift's fault that you're going to this conference. Something about making sure you got some sun and didn't think about work for a bit." She said smiling.

Sara pinched the bridge of her nose. "And I suppose you are my babysitter?"

Catherine's grin got wider. "Consider me glued to your side as we wander around LA. I'm thinking the beach for a couple of days, the pool for some other days and Warrick called some people so we can spend our nights in some of LA's hottest clubs."

Sara just sighed. So much for going to check out West Hollywood. Then she rolled the idea around in her head some. "Hey Cath. You ever watch The L Word?"
