Ouch, that hurt! Artemis went flying into the wall and crumpled to the ground. She understood the clone's anger, but that didn't make it hurt less. She shakily stood up, clutching her stomach where the clone's fist came in contact with her body. All of her 'friends' looked at her in horror. She knew what they thought; they thought she was the mole.

She had finally told them everything. About her, her dad, her mom, and her sister. She had trusted them with her secret, but they didn't trust her now. It was written all over their faces. She cursed herself or breaking her promise to herself; she would never trust anyone, not even herself.

"Conner, I-," she started. He snarled at her and pushed Megann behind him. The martian had tears in her eyes, and her shoulders shook with silent sobs.

"Get away, mole!" He yelled at her. She shrank away from the clone and the others. Wally saw tears in her eyes, but he knew they weren't tears of pain; they were tears of sadness. He asked,

"Why didn't you tell us before?" His words held no venom, but she still flinched. Then, Artemis drew to her full height and said,

"I didn't tell you because I knew you wouldn't trust me. It's obvious, really. It is written all over your faces. I finally let my barriers down, and then I get hurt." She paused for a second before continuing. " I thought you all weren't so vain as to judge me by my heritage. I am not my parents or sister! I AM ME! HAVE I EVER BETRAYED YOU? HAVE I?" She yelled. The team shrank back. She shook her head.

"It doesn't matter, I can see where I am not wanted." She ran. The team stood still for a second then Robin yelled,

"Artemis, wait!" But she was already swallowed up by the mountain's dark corridors. Robin and Zatanna turned on Conner and shouted in unison,

"How could you?" Conner was unfazed until Wally zoomed over and slammed him into the wall by his shirt. Wally's green eyes were challenging and disappointment glittered in them. Wally asked Conner,

"What right do you have to... to judge her? Huh? You were designed as a weapon, you were designed to kill. But we still except you. You aren't the weapon you were supposed to be, and neither is she." Wally dropped him and ran off to find Artemis. Robin and Zatanna glared at him and took of after Wally calling Artemis' name. Kaldur merely raised an eye brow and walked out. Megann sighed and walked after the rest of the team.

Meanwhile...

Artemis was curled up in the linen closet next to her room. As she sat in the darkness she wondered what had happened after she left. She supposed it didn't matter; she was going to get kicked off the team anyways. Sighing heavily, she rested her head against the wall. Suddenly, she heard the clatter of feet, the slamming of doors, and her name being repeated over and over. Then the door swung open.

Light burst into the darkness, blinding her. She was offered a hand which she took. Once her eyes adjusted, she saw Wally. She searched his eyes but found only concern in their green depths. He lightly ran his fingers over her cheek and whispered,

"I believe you, Artemis. I know you aren't the mole. We all believe you." Tears swam in her eyes and she wrapped her arms around him tightly. He was surprised, but he still hugged her back. She smiled, at least Wally trusted her. Right now, that was good enough for her.
