This is just a little fan fiction based on when I went to google the phrase "Kel Dom" (I was looking for fanart, so sue me) this phrase came up as an option. I know the story sucks but it was a turn of phrase I just wanted to share with all. All credit for the original characters and story goes to the almighty TP, I do not own.
Quel Dommage: an intentionally ironic statement meaning "What a Pity" or "What a Shame".
You hate being around smokers and your best friend goes in to a store to buy another pack but they are out of his brand; you can say: "Quel Dommage!" (TheUrbanDictionary et al, 2013)
"Where is your Yamani blossom, oh fickle meatheaded cousin of mine?" Dom asked as he walked up to his frazzled cousin.
"With her royal highness the princess. You would think that after riding all this way… anyway…And where is your latest love? I would have thought a flirt like you couldn't wait to subject me to the visions of maulings you have been known to call affections."
Dom gave a wistful sigh, "My love, my Lady Knight Keladry is far too well born to be seen in an affectionate or compromising embrace in public."
"What a shame." Said Nealan sarcastically, blanching ever so slightly at the thought of his cousin and best friend. 'I ever so wanted to see that."
Buri laughed at the two as she walked up arm in arm with her new husband.
"What is so funny My Lady Goldenlake, if you don't mind me asking?" Neal enquired looking a little less green for the interruption.
"In the north, in my country, the phrase "what a shame" it can be translated to "quel dommage"" Buri replied with a grin and chuckle.
Her husband barked out a laugh "– Kel Dom – ige? Ha!"
Dom clapped his cousin on the shoulder "– we live to make your life hell… quel dommage" he grinned and ran before his knightly cousin could retaliate.
