A/N: Just a short twins fic because Fantasy.Maker knows how much I adore them and sent me some fics to read. And as usual, it only takes me reading one or two fics about a pairing before i'm writing it myself! Hehe, and yes, pairing. We are shipping the twins here, just to warn you before you read any further. XD

It started with a dare.

A silly dare from a silly girl and both twins were in just a silly enough mood to take it.

It was supposed to be just mischievous play, more of the strange closeness and flirting they used to make their customers squee, but eyes and hands and lips met and nothing was fake or pretend.

They flowed naturally together, into one another, nothing awkward or out of place as most first kisses were, perfect and wonderful and when they parted, flushed and breathless, both pairs of eyes widened to realize what had just happened.

They moved quickly back from each other, turned, and marched out of the room in opposite directions.

Most heads turned to follow one or the other, sharing in the shock and surprise of the moment, and then several girls ordered cold drinks.

Very cold.

No one searched the empty hallways of the school for them but no one would have found them and even if they had, they wouldn't have talked to anyone anyways.

Except for Haruhi.

She found one and then the other, lost in thought at either end of the school and told each the same thing.

"No, it isn't conventional, but when have any of us ever been conventional."

And she said it in such a matter-of-fact tone, standing there in the male version of the school uniform and looking so very much like a boy even when they both knew otherwise, that each had laughed.

And she knew it would be alright.

Because they both paused in the exact same way,

And then laughed in the exact same manor.

They met again in the deserted music room, long after everyone else had left, because neither could hide when the other was determined to find him. They stepped close to each other then stopped, not daring to touch just yet.

"It didn't start out like,"

"I know."

"I didn't mean for it to,"

"I know."

"But what Haruhi said, and I was thinking, and maybe,"

"Shut up, I know."

And Kaoru, who had always led from behind, used the only method he could think of to make his twin stop and they continued where they had left off earlier as though there had never been any doubt or any interruption.
