"stay still, honey," Anna said to her squirming four year old. "we have to get you ready to go, Olaf!"
"Mommie!" Olaf cheered as his mother tried to pull his last shoe on. "Mommie, Mommie, Mommie!"
"yes, yes," Anna surrendered. She had been hearing her charming son scream Mommie for the last hour. "I know, Mommie. We're going to be late if we don't leave soon, are you ready to go?"
Ten minutes later the pair were strapped in the car and on the road. Olaf was in the back playing with his stuffed reindeer, while Anna drove the airport. She was practically vibrating with excitement. Her red hair was in her normal braids. She had wanted to do something more, special, for today, but she couldn't find the to actually get it done. A light pink colored her cheeks with her growing anticipation.
30 minutes later, the two were getting out of the car and headed to where the international flights landed. They were surrounded by so many people awaiting their own loved ones to arrive that it was hard to see. Anna stood on her tip toes in the middle of the crowd, one hand above her eyes as if that would make her see any further. Her other hand was holding Olaf on her hip so he didn't feel left out and start to cry.
After about 10 minutes of waiting, Anna saw it. The green cap that coved the top of her loved one's snowy white hair. It was braided off to the side like normal. Anna could just make out the top of her green army uniform and backpack.
"ELSA!" Anna called, tears forming in her eyes. She started to make her way towards Elsa, clumsily pushing people aside as she tried to hurry. She called out apologies after her, feeling bad for the mess she was causing, but not bad enough to slow down any.
Ice blue eyes met teal ones as the two women made their way to each other. When there were finally together they wasted no more time to close every last centimeter between them. The tall blonde wrapped her arms around the red heads waist and lifted her and their son both off the ground in a huge hug.
Finally, elsa was there, safe in her arms. Anna pulled back after a moment, and with tears streaming down her face gave Elsa a kiss so full of the love and adoration she had. In the middle of their kiss, Olaf wanted a part, and kissed his blonde mommie on the cheek. Elsa laughed and pulled away from anna to give olaf a huge hug. Taking him into her arms, she cuddled him as close as she possibly could, asking him all kinds of questions about what had been happening during her 6 month deployment.
"you've been taking good care of Mom while i've been gone, haven't you?" elsa asked. Laughing when olaf gave the most serious nod he could.
"really good, Mommie." olaf said. "but i'm happy your back to take care of her too." he added at the end, giving his mother another kiss on the cheek.
"i've missed you, Babe." Anna said with a slight blush as she tucked her hair behind her ear. "i've been so worried. Its good that your home, safe and sound."
"i love you, Anna." Elsa said with such passion that it made the red head blush an even deeper red. "i've missed you too, you and Olaf. And home is wonderful."
"good, I love you too." anna said, pushing herself up on her toes to give elsa another tender kiss. "lets go home."
