A/N: Written for the Drabble Prompts Challenge on the AMF, prompt #019 – oblivious, and for the ZEXAL Flash Bingo Challenge on the Yugioh ZEXAL Fanfiction Challenges Forum (link's in profile), number 075 – genre: poetry. I was experimenting with a different style than I usually write, but poetry nonetheless. :D

Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

blind deaths and blinder futures

there was a dream she'd had that had stolen her sight away from her.

a dream that had filled her wide fish-gaping mouth with water
until the chambers to her inner breast had been flooded
without oblivion. a dream that had filled her ears with a senseless
soundless echo that licks in a deeper chasm of her mind; where water
bleeds from every nook and crevice into her very soul, becomes her
and her own living body crumbles without form.

she is just another drop on the ocean-bed, swept along into the greater
expanse: a little molecule that shifts and sags and slides like the piece
in a sliding puzzle, so that she may, at least, open the chambers of his heart
a little, since the ocean that had torn hers apart so easily could not touch
its word…but she could, and she did, with gentle touches, coaxing him towards

but she couldn't see beyond that;
she couldn't see the tears he shed for her

because that dream, that foresight that had paved the way to the future
had also stolen the sight of what lay beyond her death.
