How did Dawn end up first on the beach?

BOOM! The luxury cruise ship exploded into a fiery inferno, catapulting the thirteen unsuspecting teens overboard into ocean and onto the jagged rocks that lined to shore of camp Wawanakwa, resulting in an impromptu and unpleasant race to the beach for the contestants. Well most of the teens, one particular individual while thrown from the ship never landed in the water. At the time of Chris's explosive start of the new season Dawn had been busy "calling" the flock of pigeons that had knocked Cameron off the top deck of the boat over to chat. Ever since she was a child Dawn had found she always had a special connection with animals that no one else seemed to share, likewise with her ability to read auras, nevertheless she had made it her duty to treat all the creatures of the Earth with unconditional respect, care and love. And she had also found that because of this the animals will come to her aid when she needed it the most. Like now, after being hurtled into the air the flock of pigeons quickly gathered around her and grabbed onto her by her thick green jumper stopping her from falling. There were times when people (closed minded people) upset her, because they did not understand or believe in her abilities and shunned her or called her names like weirdo or freak, but suspended up high with a breathtaking view of the island, the sea breeze in her hair and the gentle chorus of wings beating and coo's of 'Are you alright miss?" "You have strange feathers" "Why did that big fish explode!" of the pigeons Dawn felt nothing but special. She thanked the birds as they flew away after setting her down on the flat rocks on the beach and began to meditate as she waited for the rest of the contestants to swim to shore, trying to decide whether or not she tell the others about her shortcut.
