Another guestsurprise story!
Mya was tired. Tired of living in a world where people hated everyone and no one cared about the other. She wrapped her arms around herself and tried to forget that she had just gotten kicked out by her step family and only given the clothes on her back.
"I just want to forget everything." She whispered as tears rolled down her face. She then saw a boat that was sitting in the dock. Her foster family lived right next to a boat dock so she was always near the wonderful sea. "This is my chance."
She then climbed into the boat and began to paddle! She didn't know where she was going or what she was going to do, but one things for sure…she was going away from there. Soon the waves began to push and twist and turn. But she wasn't afraid; she was too tired to be afraid.
"If it's for me to die, then so be it," She whispered to herself. Within a few moments, the boat was then overturned and she was thrown into the waves. She couldn't swim so she felt like that was it. "Goodbye.." she whispered as she then felt her lungs fill up with water.
2 hours later…
"Breathe…" a person spoke. Mya's eyes still remained closed. The person continued to push on her chest and place their mouth on hers and then let her mouth go. "Breathe…"
Mya's eyes then remained closed, until she finally felt someone lean down and kiss her. This kiss was sucking the remaining water from her lungs. After a few moments, the being let her go and she began to cough the water up and onto the sandy ground. The being then turned her over carefully and she was able to breathe a bit better. She looked over her shoulder and met the dark, brown eyes of a man, only this man had ears that looked similar to a horse! Even though his face was handsome, he looked like he was not entirely human!
"Now easy…don't be afraid," the being smiled as he looked at her in her eyes. But Mya's eyes shot open and she scrambled to her feet! "Halt! Come back here human!"
Mya, however, was running as fast as her feet could go! She didn't want that being to catch her and eat her alive. The most terrible part? The fact that she heard four hooves pounding the ground behind her. She turned and saw him (at least she thought it was a he) galloping after her. He gave her a small smirk and narrowed his eyes mischievously, now gaining on her. Half of him was human and half of him was a horse! Her heart was pounding harder and harder and she felt like she was going to pass out, but she was determined to make it!
"I'm not gonna die! I'm not gonna die! I'm not gonna die!" Mya kept chanting to herself! Soon, she felt fingers barely graze the back of her shirt! She yelped and turned and saw the man almost catching her in his clutches.
"Come here!" He said, in a devious and mischievous tone! Mya screeched and didn't watch where she was going! His eyes widened in shock because they were both heading for the lake!
"Look out! You're heading for…" He said, but the minute he grabbed her they both went tumbling into the water. A moment later, Mya surface but before she could get her bearings, something strong and soft lifted itself up under her. She tried to get her bearings, but she felt too tired to open her eyes.
"Wake up there sleepy one," a voice chuckled. Mya didn't open her eyes. She then heard another chuckle and whatever it was under her began to gently bounce under her and shake. "Come now. Open those eyes."
"Mmm…huh…" Mya said groggily, slowly opening her eyes. She then turned around and saw the being looking at her over his shoulder. She then realized that he had her draped over his soft and strong back. She attempted to get up but he cocked a curious brow and bounced her again, making her lose her balance and land on his back again.
"Now easy there…I am not going to harm you," He whispered softly. "Now, I will let you up if you let me carry you back to shore."
Mya slowly looked around and saw that they were standing in the middle of the beautiful pool. There were beautiful lightning bugs flying around them, making the lake light up. Mya was interrupted from her thoughts by a gentle tickle behind her ears from his strong hands. She turned and saw him smiling kindly at her and helping her to her sit up on his back.
"Now, how about telling me who you are…"
"M-my name is Mya."
"Well Mya, my name is Storm; now that you've come to our island…"
"OUR ISLAND?!"
"Of course; my clan lives here." Storm smiled gently. At that moment, they turned and heard footsteps coming closer and closer. Mya turned around and saw other beings looking at her.
"W-What are those?! What are you?!" She panicked, but he turned around and grabbed her to keep her from jumping off and swimming away.
"You're on the island of centaurs and that's what we are," He said softly. Mya looked around, but the minute they got closer, Mya passed out. He sighed a little and gave her a gentle nuzzle.
"Come now…wake up. We don't want you to fear us forever," Storm whispered as he held her to his chest. Once she opened her eyes once more, Storm beckoned the others to come out in the water and meet the new human.
"She's a bit jumpy isn't she?" A young female centaur giggled as she began to wade near them. Mya tried to squirm out of Storm's arms, but he held her in a gentle bear hug.
"Not so fast Mya." He chuckled.
"Don't be afraid of us," the young female smiled, now walking into the water until her horse parts were completely submerged under water. "Come here young one."
"I-I'm scared Storm! Where I'm from, Centaurs are just myths!"
"Well…technically humans were myths to us too, until we met one a few years ago. But there is no reason to fear. We won't harm you." He smiled as he handed Mya gently to the female centaur, who gave Mya soft and warm nuzzles.
That helped Mya to calm down a bit and she gave a gentle smile as the other centaurs began to walk near the water to meet her.
guestsurprise: Just a thought I had! I like Mythology! I hope you all enjoyed it!
