Pain
"Would you not want that? A life without pain?!"
...
"You might as well kill me."
After the Time War, losing my people, killing my people. I felt cold. Indifferent. Deep down I cared though, innocent lives could be saved. Could. There are so many deaths. I just couldn't let her die as well. She saved me.
I suppose that when I first saw her, when I saved her, I became interested. It had been so long since my last companion. No one after the War. No one deserved to be near me, I didn't deserve companionship. Lonely. A man with two cold hearts. But she. Oh she was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. The way she dealt with everything, her enthusiasm. Her courage.
When the Dalek held her as a prisoner, and I thought I had lost her, that was when I realized, I had fallen for this silly little ape. She kept the Oncoming Storm at bay, I trusted her, told her everything I did, why I did it.
The Daleks were attacking, going to wipe out the human race. To stop them I was going to go down with the station, I didn't want her to die as well. I sent her back home, to where she would be safe. But I was weak I couldn't do it, I couldn't kill so many innocent lives. Just as I thought it was over, my nine hundred years of existence, she appeared with the Tardis. Eyes glowing with energy from the Time Vortex. She defeated the Daleks, turned them to dust, but at the cost of nearly burning out. I couldn't lose her.
"Rose, you've got to stop this! You;ve got to stop this now! You've got the entire Vortex running through your head! You're gonna burn!"
"I want you safe. My Doctor, protected from the false god.
I can see everything. All that is. All that was. All that ever could be."
"Thats what I see, all the time. And doesn't it drive you mad?"
"My head-"
"Come here."
"-is killing me."
"I think you need a Doctor."
I thought I lost her, two different worlds, if I crossed over I could break the universe. But she always found a way around fate. She crossed dimensions, and defeated one of the most terrifying species in the universe.
I couldn't hold onto her. She deserved to be happy. My Fantastic Rose..
"Alright both of you, answer me this. When I last stood on this beach,on the worst day of my life, what was the last thing you said to me? Go on, say it."
"I said, Rose Tyler."
"Yeah and? How was that sentence gonna end?"
"Does it need saying?"
When I first met Rose Tyler, I held her hand, and told her to Run.
And I've been running ever since.
