Karen strode into the office, closing the door behind her. Her glossy red stilettos clicked as she set her purse down on the desk. She wandered around the room for a few minutes, gathering files and stray papers that had ended up strewn all over during a late-night consultation.
Foggy and Matt were already in their private offices, working on one thing or another.
After a while, Matt exited his office to sit on the edge of her desk, placing his Styrofoam cup on it.
"Are those new heels?" he asked in a confident voice that said he already knew the answer.
Karen blushed, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Yeah, actually, they are…" She cocked her head to the side. "But how could you tell?"
"They have a different sound," he replied simply, already turning to retrieve his coffee from the desk behind him.
"Oh."
"Man, I totally should have noticed that," groaned Foggy from where he leaned against the doorway between his office and the main room.
Matt sipped his drink before responding. "Nah, don't feel bad. Blind people just notice a lot of things that the sight-enabled don't."
"Like… special blind-people powers," joked Karen.
Matt tilted his head to the side. His lips parted in an amused grin. "You could say that…"
