This was originally intended to be a Rurouni Kenshin oneshot fic but it turned out in this format. I might still write a fic for this though so please RR with any suggestions! Thankyou.

The Princess and the Dragon Prince
Once a upon a time of fairies, when time could heal and magic was real,
There lived a Dragon Prince, of the land beyond the moor,
And a raven-haired Princess who could never leave her nest,
For her father, the King, kept her behind a closed door,
Behind an enchanted locked door,
To keep her from her Dragon Prince – separated - forevermore.
For an evil Queen, with a wicked soul and a heart of coal,
Yes, the wicked Queen of ancient lore,
Wanted the Princess dead, bleeding unto her bed,
So that the Dragon Prince from beyond the moor,
The gold and crimson dragon, from the land beyond the moor,
Could love her instead, forevermore.
But even with the King's best tries, even with his pleading cries,
"Please keep safe!" would the King implore,
He could not his daughter stop,
From seeing the Prince she so adored,
Her beloved Dragon Prince she so adored,
Wishing she could be with him, forevermore.
And this alas the wicked Queen, this alas she used to intervene,
To kill the Princess, so out her heart her blood would pour.
When one day from the castle she escaped,
The Princess met the Queen while traveling through the moor.
The wicked Queen who killed the Princess while traveling through the moor,
So that her untainted heart would beat still, forevermore.
But the Queen's vile plan backfired, for she did not get her true desire.
While the Princess lay dying, on the cold ground of the moor,
Pure love's magic worked to correct an event so tragic,
This magic from the angels in the days of yore,
From the wise and ancient angels of the days of yore,
Could not let this evil deed go – unpunished - forevermore.
The Dragon Prince, while far away, at his castle's entrance he lay,
Could still sense his Beloved's tumble to the floor.
When the Princess' heart beat its last, the Dragon's anger became vast.
He spread his wings and flew through the stars like never before,
Flew so quick through the stars like never before,
To where the body of his Princess lay – unmoving - forevermore.
Lighting upon the heartbreaking scene, where the Princess lay near the Queen,
The Dragon gave a sky trembling "Roar!"
And rushed forward, towards the evil filled Queen,
To tear out her black heart with borrowed magic of yore,
With the ancient magic of pure love from the days of yore,
So that the Queen would lie still, forevermore.
But in doing this deed, he used up the life-force he so needed,
And he too lay dying with his heart sore.
As he felt his breath draining away he turned to the sky and prayed,
To the seraphs we hear of in ancient lore,
To the highly exalted seraphs from our ancient lore.
That he may be with his Beloved in heaven, forevermore.
The prayer reached the Seraphim, who sat above, shrouded by clouds,
And granted the wish to be separated nevermore.
Today there floats two butterflies, one of crimson and one of obsidian,
In the meadow once a moor,
In the beautiful meadow that was once a moor,
The Princess and the Dragon Prince are, at last, together forevermore.
