Though Twilight Sparkle had seen it on Heart and Hooves Day, between the Cakes, and most of all: Cadence and her brother, Shining Armor. Because of their love, they were able to ward off Changelings and defend the Crystal Empire.
It was them that made her think love was powerful and magical. She herself knew that love was the most powerful magic of all. But she thought it was a soft type of magic. Nothing to get too worked up about.
Yeah. Sure.
Look what love has done now?
She stood at the top of tower in Canterlot, where Princess Celestia and her sister, Princess Luna, would watch over the citizens, day and night respectfully. From up there, Twilight thought that it was the Princess' own magic that allowed them to watch over all of Equestria. But maybe it was the tower itself.
Because she could see every city of Equestria from her spot. Every pony, every house. But most off all...
The destruction she and her friends had caused, all because of the one thing she swore off after that day.
At first, it seemed like just another mission for Celestia, stopping evil. But this time, all the evil they had faced was now banding together to take over. Even Discord, who had been reformed, had joined, evil once again taking his heart.
But it wasn't this that caused Equestria to fall. Hell, they probably could have won in the end. No, it all started with Twilight Sparkle confessing her feelings during the battle. Then one pony became jealous. After that, all hell broke loose in the group. Because about a week after, the group had all left eachother, disabling the Elements of Harmony.
With the Elements of Harmony out of commission... No that wasn't completely true.
They weren't completely out of it. Just a little... modified.
Twilight sighed, a tear falling. Modified was an understatement. The Elements new change reflected off of the ones wearing them.
Rarity... she no longer cared for anyone. Generosity had been annihilated from her heart.
Fluttershy... Kindess? Was eating animals kind? Going against your values? Yeah. Right.
Applejack... She had cheated, lied, and made her way up the crime world. Honesty wasn't really her style.
Pinkie Pie... A stone. Seemed like a cruel joke, her originally being a rock farmer and all. But what made Pinkie laugh now? Well... Laughter in torturing others was... well...
But...
Her biggest regret was Rainbow Dash.
She was a rogue. Relying only on herself. The Loyalty she once had... gone. And she blamed Twilight for it. Because had Twilight not confessed her feelings, Dash believed they could have stopped evil.
And Twilight Sparkle believed this statement.
She had seen love at its height, Cadence and Shining Armor defending everything they held dear. But what pushed them further was there love for eachother.
Twilight was the Element of Magic. She thought love would be easy, once she found out who her heart said to be with. Magic... is now gone.
The Elements of Harmony were gone. Now was...
The Elements of Disharmony. Or, as Discord liked to call them:
The Elements of Love.
Twilight Sparkle sighed. Love truly was the most powerful magic of all.
She just wished someone had told her just how out of control it could be.
