Hermione?" Harry said, poking his head into her room of the tent.

It was the third day since Ron's depparture. Hermione was distraught. Harry hated it.

"Yes?" She croaked, wiping her tear-stained face, as though willing the tracks to disappear from her face.

"I've made some food."

She nodded "Thank you, Harry, but I'm not really hungry."

"Hermione, you haven't eaten since he left. You need to come and eat. Please."

She smiled slightly at his concern as she sat up and got off of the chair. She walked over to him.

He outstretched his arms, offering her a well deserved embrace.

She openly ran into them, wrapping her arms tightly around him and burying her face into his shoulder.

He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, smoothing her hair with his hand.

The sound machine clicked on and Harry began to sway with the music, keeping Hermione encircled in his arms.

She looked up and smiled slightly at him, moving her feet along with his.

He chuckled softly and twirled her around in his arms, smiling as her hair flew in the short space of time of her movement.

She smiled and took his hands in her own, dancing freely with him, feeling happy for the first time since Ron had left.

After dancing for a while, Harry pulled her back close, kissing her head as the music ended.

"I love you, Hermione." He murmured, almost silently.

She apparently didn't hear as she rested her head on his shoulder "You're a great friend, Harry." She said.

It was then, his heart shattered. He realised that he would never be with her. He realised that he would have to be with the one that loved him, but did not love himself. He realised that him and Ginny had another, unfortunate thing in common. They were both in love with someone who didn't reciprocate their feelings. He realised that she had chosen him.
