Korra finally got through the gates, thanks to pro bending and Meelo's advice but… (Be the f*ckin leaf, lol) once she got through she bend down, with her hands on her knees and breathed heavily. Jinora and Ikki looked over to a handsome fire bender they never met before with curiosity. Mako started to walk upstairs were Korra was with Tenzin's kids. He looked at them but shyly looked down and kept walking.
"Ooh… He's cute" Ikki said getting closer to Jinora
"Korra, is that the handsome fire bender boy that drives you 'crazy'?" Jinora said smiling at was going to be Korra's reaction.
Korra looked at them widening her eyes, wanting it not to be who she thought. But her luck, she saw Mako, and she almost blushed. Her heart raced and got butterflies in her stomach.
"Does he drive you crazy in a bad way? Or does he drive you crazy lie you like him?"Ikki teased
She quickly earth bended the ground underneath their feet making them fall gracefully He was just behind Korra and she got out of her battle position, relaxed her shoulders and somehow feeling two girls landed back on the ground behind the Avatar giggling. Mako heard their giggles and he made his thoughts back on his brother, even though he thought if they were giggling about him, but he didn't have time for that. But when she turned around, she felt the confidence gone. Her hand on her right hip and said "Oh, uh… hey, Mako" she smiled as both still heard the giggles of her little 'cousins'. He wanted to smirk but he was still kinda curious… Maybe he will never find out so clearly about girl stuff, never!
I know Korra isn't Tenzin's niece but… Katara raised her like a grandmother, Tenzin loves her like a daughter or as niece himself (even though his feelings are hard to explain) and the kids liked in the very first time they met (which was way before the series started), so, maybe she could be an adopted niece to Tenzin and Pema's family.
