From the disease. Harry and an exotic explorer become biochemical co dependent after they have an illegal affair. Harry is telling the captain that he cannot stop seeing the woman who he is been ordered not to see.
The former green ensign stood before me. "Captain permission to speak freely. I nod my head, unaware of the truth he is about to speak of.
He began. "When you were in love did your skin ever flush when you were near him? Did your heart ever long to be closer to him, but at the same time hope that he couldn't hear your breathing quicken when he walked into the room?
Kathryn swallowed, Harry continued.
"That man that you were going to marry if you could have taken a hypo spray to have yourself stop missing him so much would you have done it?
Captain I have been a loyal member of this crew for 5 years. For five years I have done what any good officer from the academy would have done. But Captain, I love this woman.
"I will consider your request Harry, you are dismissed."
Harry turned and walked out of the briefing room.
Kathryn sat back in her chair. "Computer begin Captains personal log."
If only they knew what occupies my mind when I am not working. His eyes, his dam smile. That look that he gives me when we joke with one another. That look in his eyes when we get closer than usual to one another. If only he knew what he does to me, when he speaks to me softly. I often wonder if he kissed me if I would live through it or I would just die in his arms. And there are days that I daydream about being in those arms.
I envy you Harry, because she knows how you feel. My heart and life belong to him, and he doesn't even know. End log.
The door chimes. "Come." I look up. It's him. Now I just have to concentrate on what he is saying.
